don't get too excited..he says he has no interest in it right now, but he did talk about the live 8 reunion and how he wouldn't have done it if roger hadn't called him..and roger called him and it went well, and that the performance was a lot of fun...and it was time to put all the bullshit behind him and roger behind...

Did you hear about Roger Waters playing the Complete Dark Side this summer in France somewhere.
Sounds pretty cool, wish I could be there.

The Horrible Esthete - 03-07-2006
Was lucky enough to see Floyd [Waters-less, sadly] on a gorgeous May evening back in 1994 at the Horseshoe (Ohio Stadium). I was moved to tears several times by the power, the beauty, the vibe.....and the cognizance of my own good fortune in witnessing such a legendary act after logging god-knows-how-many hours listening to mere recordings.
Setlist included (among others):
Astronomy Domine
Learning To Fly
On The Turning Away
One Of These Days
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, parts I-V
Breathe
Time / Breathe (Reprise)
Wish You Were Here
The Great Gig In The Sky
Us And Them
Money
Another Brick In The Wall, part II
Comfortably Numb
Hey You
Run Like Hell
I also remember, sometime during the encore, Gilmour tossing in a few bars from the distinctive riff from Neil Young's
Ohio.....i still get goosebumps (more like goosemountains) when recalling the subsequent show of approval by some 80,000 spectators....

So the general view is this is a good solo work by Gilmore?
I have only seen one review of it here in the UK (not a big music press reader admittedly) and was wondering what it was like.
My uncle tells a great story about seeing Floyd in the 70's, where he laid back in time to see the two spitfires fly overhead as part of the set. Considering the amount of dope he smoked during that time, I am amazed he can remember anything....

it's a mellow cd, but it's fantastic...it will consume you as you listen to it...

I also think it's quite good. Obviously Floyd-ish, but different at the same time. Nice harmonies added in as well. Very mellow. I listened to it like 3 times last night while I was working.

I agree, I think it is very Floyd-sounding, which is fine by me. This album is well done & well worth the long wait.
Mellow = good chillin' music.

i smoked a huge joint and listened to this cd in a completey dark apartment with 3 of my friends last weekend, and i thought it sounded pretty good, but i found it to be a bit boring at times, although some of it was qiute gripping as well...it's gonna take a few more listens before i can really form an opinion on this one.
