Pamela Anderson will be the hostess of this year's Juno Awards. I wonder if J. Fay will be mackin' her backstage... hahah... I can't believe I just typed "mackin'"
Front row floors just got a bit more interesting.

I like Pammy. She seems like a decent gal, and she obviously has a good sense of humor about herself (VIP anyone?), not to mention the fact that she's always talking about how proud she is of her Canadian roots. Call me crazy, but I think she'll be a pretty good host.
As for the show itself, that's another story altogether. Like I said in the other Juno thread, the Canadian music industry should be ashamed of themselves. Theory of a NickelCreed and those douchebags from Canadian Idol combining for 14 nominations?? That's just wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin.

Pam will definitely attract viewers and I suspect the rating for the Junos will be fairly good. However, I just noticed the Black Eyed Peas are performing so that might offset the boost from Pam hosting.
Seriously, the Peas? Is there any way we can rid ourselves of them? They show up at every big Canadian event. They were at the Grey Cup and now the Junos. Are the Juno organizers that ashamed of Canadian music that they have to reel in Coldplay and Black Eyed Peas? cratch:

Yeah, it's either Best International Album or Best International Artist. I'm pretty sure U2 won around the time of The Joshua Tree.

I think Pam Anderson has great comic timing and she could be a really good host.
I just wish she was being given something to work with here. I can't remember the last time I was this comprehensively unimpressed with the nominations.
Maybe they should have gotten Ben Mulroney to host, considering every second fucking nominee is from Canadian Idol...

There's a chance we might even get to see Pam sing. She did the duet "when you're gone" with Bryan Adams on his recent anthology, and BA is being inducted into the HOF & is set to perform, so you never know

I especially like the line, "This is the year they didn't need international acts. Pam's two breasts will do more for ratings than Coldplay and Black Eyed Peas." A very valid point IMO.
I can see both sides of the argument though. It's good to branch out and be able to attract huge international acts. It's also good to showcase local talent.
However, it is an awards show and isn't important so in a way it doesn't matter what happens and who shows up. :thumb:

How did Pam do? She was wearing revealing outfits (big surprise) and got quite a reaction when she mentioned the seal hunt. How do you guys think she did hosting?
BTW, most of the performances sounded awful on television. Hedley made me long for Maroon 5.
