fiona - PortlandCarbo - 01-30-2006

so i don't know where i've been or maybe it's just that the video just came out...but like her cd, i'm loving fiona's video "not about love" --- first off i fell in love with extr. machine when it was first leaked to the public. but it's so cool to finally see it all released the way it should have been in the first place. i for one, am so happy for her. what a long stupid process she had to go through just to get this far.

anyway, i know i'm rambling...but what an awesome way to wake up. the beautiful fiona singing her new (old to most of us) single off of her latest cd. if any of you haven't heard it, i'd suggest picking it up - it's worth it for sure.

cheers all...
sarah

Yep, she's a doll. Great talent. I don't know why it took me so long to get into her music but better late than never! :thumb: She's got the eyes of an angel and the voice to go along with her eyes. Big Grin

I can't believe I missed it! :x I think she's gonna be on Craig Ferguson on the 17th so I'll have to see her there.

- opiated - 02-12-2006

yeah..i had no idea she was going to be on, otherwise i would have given you some warning..i fluked out and tuned over just as she was being introduced...killer version of Get Him Back...so sultry

I would have loved to hear anything from her. What a voice. I'm just watching the VH1 performance that was linked from her website. Confusedhock: Confusedhock: She's so good it's almost scary. I sound like a giddy little girl but she just mesmerizes me. I shudder to think what I'd do if I got to see her live in concert.

i've said it before, but her live show is nothing short of brilliance...the passion, the soul, that voice...she throws in some old jazz classics...wow...i was floored at how good it was

There's nothing I can say about her that hasn't already been said in numerous threads on this forum. Fiona kicks ass. I love her!

Sorry to revive this old thread but I just listened to "Across the Universe" by Fiona today after watching that atrocious version at the Grammys this year. My heavens, Fiona does a sparkling job on this Beatles classic. Truly beautiful cover. That's all. Sorry again but I just had to mention this as I was so floored after watching Fiona's video of the song for the first time in a very long time.

unfortunately, i've never been to one of her shows.

She's truly one of the few musicians who makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I know you are not a fan but I admit I was a pretty big fan of Chantal K (before Raine got to her  ) and she does a pretty good version of "In My Life". On the bonus disc from "CMS" she does "Leaving on a Jet Plane", "In My Life", and "Feels Like Home" (Randy Newman).

Fiona Apple, April 7, Conan O'brien. Watch or die.
