Predictions, anyone? I hate to go against my home country, and I'll still be cheering for Canada, but those Russians look too powerful. I say 3-2 Russia. Anyone else?

4-1 Canada if they play Sutter Hockey.

Canada beat them 8-1 in pre-tourney but the Russkies didn't have Malkin in the lineup. Will be a much different score tonight. If Canada can get physical with Malkin like they did to Ovechkin last year, and get a couple goals and Pogge is hot, Canada should win. I'm calling a 4-3 Canada win. (Rory how could you go against Canada?!!)

It wouldn't surprise me to see either team win. I think it might be a 5-3 Russia win. Just a feeling. Of course either team could win. I just think Russia has a better team overall and have gotten great goaltending. Of course, on paper Canada weren't the favourites coming in but they have PLAYED AS A TEAM better than any other team in the tourney and Pogge has been very good so it could go either way.

Good ol' Team USA... rumours of dissension (sic) in the dressing room, individual play.... they seemed to fall apart a bit after the Johnson elbow on Downie. Fourth place again this year.

What a first period! Both teams were flying and laying huge body checks on each other! Pogge looks great so far! 2-0 Canada... can the good guys keep it up?

Wow, just turned on the game and caught an unbelievable flurry of activity in the Russion zone. Canada is really putting on the pressure.

Canada looks like they have it wrapped up. Congrats. A few points though that I'm sure you'll all hate me for but anyway::::

Ok, firstly, I think Pierre M and Gord Miller are making the game unbearable to watch. There is too much bias. Pierre accuses a Russian of diving when they were giving him smelling salts on the bench. Not a minute later, Downie took a dive to draw a penalty and Pierre APPLAUDED HIM. What disgraceful commentary.

Secondly, Downie is a big coward. I don't know why Canada can't win with honour. It goes all the way back to Bobby Clarke and his disgraceful actions against Russia in 1972. Downie has been mouthing off, and flopping all over the ice. I know he's a pest but I have no time for him. I wish the ref would stop calling bullshit calls on the Russians from Downie falling. The refs aren't the reason Canada is winning by any means but Downie has taken a dive at least 4 times. There's being a pest and then there's being a coward. Downie has already crossed that line. For all you biased fans, Canadian players DIVE JUST AS MUCH AS RUSSIANS, if not more so enough of this bs from Don Cherry and most of Canada.

Thirdly, the Russians had a goal taken away. If that goal counted, the game could have taken a different course. I'm not saying IT WOULD HAVE, I'm saying it COULD HAVE. The ref KNEW it was a goal but it still didn't count. If that happened to Canada, there would have been an uproar and Pierre would have been calling for an investigation.

Fourth, the Russian goalie just got called for a ridiculous slashing penalty when Pogge has been hacking players all game. I'm just sayin......

Finally, congrats again to Canada. The Russians haven't capitalized on their chances while Canada has so far. The refs HAVE NOT DECIDED THE GAME and it doesn't look like the DISALLOWED GOAL would have given Russia the win either.
