Another Roadside Attraction - HipFan1 - 12-30-2005

When I met Bobby Baker in London at the Strippers Union concert he mentioned something about there being another "Another Roadside Attraction".

Has anyone heard any more about this?

There have been rumors floating around for years about another ARA being put together, but I have yet to hear solid proof of it actually happening. If they do go ahead with it this summer, that'll definitely make my year. Here's hoping!

It does seem the rumours have continually gone on since the last ARA in 1997.

yeah I'm really hoping too. I'm suffering from concert withdrawal, my goal this summer is to go to any Hip concert anywhere south of Toronto, including Barrie and Wasaga Beach. I also hope to go to some shows in Michigan.

I totally understand the concert withdrawal, but it seems to have affected your sense of geography... Barrie and Wasaga Beach are both north of Toronto... :lol:

Yeah that's why I mentioned them seperately because they're the only places I will go for a concert north of Toronto, oh yeah and I forgot to mention Kingston. :thumb:

9 years ago today I saw my very first hip concert in Barrie at Roadside Attraction. I'll never forget the show as it was my very first concert ever. 9 years later, I've seen 48 hip shows; 49 in Stratford and the big 50 shouldn't come too long after that....

There will be another Roadside but it won't be 'till next summer as it will be the 10th anniversary since the last one. And the line-up will include major acts and some from previous Roadsides and this time it will be 2 days a pop not just one. That's just what I think.

i'd rather not see another one...the hip don't play as long of sets at them, and i get kind of greedy when i see them...that and long festival shows, (ike acid wash)are so out of style

Having attended my first hip show at ARA '93 and the others to follow I personally can't wait for the next!

I doubt you will see another ARA, to much organizing, too much cost.
