d_alex_d - 12-12-2005
hey guys, i know we have some similar posts already but i thought i would start a new one and let you know of the latest painting i was asked to do...
this was the first one, for those of you who missed it
and this is the latest, that someone asked me to paint last week
i will be posting them on eBay to sell, curious to see what i can get...if anything, i suppose..lol...so maybe take a gander over there in the next few days, once its posted i'll post a link as well
the size of these paintings is, 11"x17", they were both done in Corel Painter, as i am a Graphic Designer, computer generated art is my specialty
if anyone wants to make a trade for a poster or something else, i would be willing to listen
Thanks guys,
Alex

either way, i'll buy it. if you decide to make it available to basers, that would be great. sign me up for a copy. btw, what kind of paper will you print it on?...what quality of stock?

usually for a painting like this somewhere around $50 - $70 is a fair price, about 20-30 bucks an hour, this one took me about 6 or 7 hours, obvisouly that math isnt correct, but $50 would be a base price...more would be awesome obvisouly, but who knows...im interested to see how much eBay will put out
if you do wanna buy it for sure, i can hook something up, send me a pm, and we can figure out some details...ie. shipping, stock etc. etc.
like i said the size is 11x17 paper, the actual painting is slightly smaller than that. and i can print on any type of stock, i would most likely get heavier weighted glossy, but if you wanted another type, "matte", light paper whatever, that could be arranged

As for price i'm gonna say $50 bucks plus shipping for either one

Ok, sure, you could assume anything want, you could also trash my profession, thanks man.
I'm gonna assume that you can't read, because obvisouly you didnt see where it says that I used Corel Painter, and painting program, on the computer, and i said, it was done on the computer, not hand drawn.
And sure anyone can apply a filter to anything they want, it just looks like shit. So if what your saying is true, then anyone can really become a world famous painter, all they need is photoshop, I'm glad there is people like you out there, who like to chop down professional artists in their work.
Once again, thanks man :thumb:
For all artists out there...WE ALL APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT
and lastly, if it takes you 4 minutes to apply a filter, you have the slowest moving mouse I could imagine, cuz personally it takes me about 10 seconds to apply a filter

hey guys, sorry for that double post up there
anyways, im really fired up right now, after what an ignorant hipbaser said to my paintings, so before i head off to work, i quickly threw together a little website showing the differences in photoshop filters, and the actual painting i did, have a look
the site isnt much to see, but the images on there are worth a look
http://www.graphic-design.ca:16080/~davy/paintingsite/site.htm
also, i have a question for said ignorant hipbaser...
If what you are saying is true about being able to apply a filter to any old photo, could one assume, that years ago if photoshop had been around, we would have never heard of some of the most influential people on the planet...ie. Van Gogh, Tom Tomson, Emily Carr, Picasso, Michelangelo, to name a few?
Just throwing it out there, feel free to throw it back
