Sweet list Gord!! Lots of great music on there, me and Gord like alot of the same stuff, I have 3/4's of that list.. :thumb:

Since I'm getting Hipeponymous for X-mas, I've been making due with a lot of New Pornographers. Amazing band, 3 very solid albums. You'll overdose on the number of hooks A.C. Newman can cram into a 3 minute song, and if that's not enough he has the beautiful voice of Neko Case at his disposal. And Kurt Dahle has to be the most underrated drummer in what I like to call rock 'n' roll! Check them out if you haven't done so. The solo album is a little more subdued but also very good.

Any Destroyer fans out there? Dan Bejar's contributions to the NPs are excellent as well, been meaning to pick up one of his albums and have no idea where to start.

Alexisonfire - interesting pick

What a great list! Half of those bands would be on mine as well. It's cool to think that if Gord and I ever had a conversation about music, we'd probably end up chatting for hours.

- kleh - 12-02-2005

leave it to gordie to put such a fine list together

cool that rick white's on the list his previous band's were great too, elevator & eric's trip, ill have to try to find that new solo project

always loved that reference during ''put if off'' they played their farewell show the same summer 'henhouse' was released before a brief 2001 reunion tour

Yeah, to be honest I can't stand them. Other than that, nice picks. Nice to see The Dears, Plaskett and Uncle Neil on there.

And kleh, I take it you were at the St. John's PJ shows? Amazing, weren't they? Seeing them again a few times this Spring/Summer, hopefully. They've been one of my favourite bands since I was 10 or 11, it was such a trip seeing them in my little province.

I actually met Mike and Stone downtown, got pics with them and some autographs.

But back to the topic...Yay, Gord! :thumb:

Ha anyone else got the Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir? It's a big change from the Headstones, no doubt about that. I like it, but the jury's still out on how much.

I don't like Alexisonfire, but The Weakerthans are a solid band. And of course, Neil Young is a god.

- lilbones - 12-08-2005

You'll come to see there is plenty of love for The Weakerthans out there on this board.

Yup, and I'm one of the people who loves 'em. In fact, I can honestly say that the Weakerthans are my 2nd favorite band behind Das Hips. That's quite a lofty position, I know. But they really are that good! Can't wait to hear their next album.

I am a huge fan of HDRC, you have to check out their live show in a small club, its excellent
