Austin City LImits - thechubb - 11-30-2005

Austin City LImits puts on a terrific festival in Austin every summer. I have had the pleasure of attending the past 3 years.

I've always thought it would be a great place for the Hip to get some exposure. They would be a perfect fit for this festival. This is the most open minded and diverse music crowd i have ever seen. The Hip would be sure to attract many new fans here.

The ACl website has put out this request form for fans to make band suggestions.

If you are willing and have the time. have a look at this link and request the hip.

To my knowledge, The Hip have a loyal fanbase in Texas already so it seems like a natural fit. Any place is a good place to see the Hip!

but seeing as I really don't know what a valid zip code for aroud the Austin area is, and seeing as I'm Canadian, I went with the classic 90210 as a zip code.

Great thought, chubb. I'll take it a step further and suggest that ACL, the show feature TTH. They are well-enough established as artists to get the nod, and the tried-and-true ACL fans across this continent would (as great fans of great music) would more than appreciate seeing them.

Hey MaV - do you know if TTH have ever lobbied / been considered for an appearance on ACL?

A Hip show at the festival would likely catch the eyes of the ACL promoters. I would think it would spark interest in booking the band for the show.

acl is one of the coolest rock shows around. a lot of bands like the hip schedule gigs late at night when the festival ends. it would not surprise me if they had something planned at a downtown bar. Definitely try and go Chris. We go every year and aside from the heat, it's fantastic. Austin is a great time.

Hmmm.... Two weeks into school, should I travel to Texas for a weekend to see the Hip, Sam Roberts, Feist, et al? I do have family there....

Ahh, there they are. For some reason they're listed there, but their name is still missing from the actual "lineup" page. Interesting. If they are indeed playing, I'm seriously considering taking in this festival. That lineup is amazing!
