THINGS THAT REMIND ME OF THE HIP - ron - 04-22-2003
Ok now i usually listen to the hip but in the last week i have seen things that remind me of the hip . Wanted to know if anyone else has these things happened to them?
mine are : 1. reading the paper ( Buffalo News) and reading about a company that is researching the upstate area for oil they are based in Chagrin Falls , Ohio.
2. looking out the window at work last week on a windy day and in the tree is a garbage bag so i keep saying in my head garbage bag trees , whispers of disease.
3. watching espn hockey tonight and in the opening john buchgross (sp)
says the tragically hip ( while showing a hip check) now mind you he always says band names in reference to the hockey but its the hip this time.

All the time!!!! Especially in reference to something being 'full' or 'complete'

There is always a reference of some kind going on, whether it Hip or DMB. .....My husband is obsessed also

i saw david suzuki speak yesterday at hamilton place and he mentioned the diagonal lines of farmers' fields (starpainters) and he also used the term "trickle down"

I usually get that in the middle of a conversation and then my mind starts to wander to the rest of the lyrics . I saw some garbage bag trees today , and I just had to chuckle .

It's really weird, during conversations if somebody says a phrase that is a lyric in any song I know, it'll instantly get stuck in my head. On average, I'd have to say I get about 20 different songs stuck per day.

Whenever I hear a new song from Rush on the radio, after the song, the radio announcer says the song name and says it's from the album "Vapour Trails".....you can figure this one out...

also, i have written many tests in school that are covered in hip lyrics. especially math tests. a special treat for the teacher.

Do any of you sometimes slip Hip lyrics into conversations and see if the other person picks up on it? I do.

I would if more people around me were into the Hip as much as I am :wink: Right now it would just go over my friends' heads :|
Oh well, someday I will convert them into HUGE Hip fans!! :lol:
