Pursuit of Happiness reunion tour/greatest hits album - direwolf74 - 10-21-2005

I used to love these guys. Back when I first discovered the glory of Canadian rock in the late 80s/early 90s, Moe Berg was one of my favorite songwriters. I'll definitely be buying tickets for their reunion tour, and I just might have to pick up the greatest hits disc as well. Any other TPOH fans out there?

Ha, right there with ya, direwolf! :thumb:

In fact, I just added to this other thread in the Musicians section of the forum, probably at the same time you were adding your post! Check it out.

Bought the "best of" disc today, and it's fantastic! You get all the hits of course, plus two previously unreleased tracks, a new song called "Hey Mary Anne", a rockin' cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry", and the original 1986 demo version of "I'm An Adult Now". You also get some cool liner notes from each band member, including a funny story from one of their back-up singers about Moe Berg, Gord Downie, and Craig Northey eating all her mini-donuts backstage at a Hip show in Vancouver.

I'll definitely be picking this one up as well...I'm just disappointed that "Food" didn't make the setlist cut...gotta love the less-than-subtle lyrics:

Quote:Your love is like greasy fried noodles
Instantly gratifying - makes me want to come back for more
You fill me up and I'm hungry an hour later
Got to have another serving - give me a sweet encore

Come on over for some barbequed pork
I want to get you on my fork and then I'm gonna swallow you whole
Want to baste you on both sides get you nice and tender
Want you to melt in my mouth - give me a sensory overload

Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death
Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death

Sometimes you're a little like shake and bake chicken
A little hard on the outside but so soft within
I bite through your coating and you ooze all over me
I feel just like a pig with your juice running down my chin

Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death
Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death

For dessert how about a nice piece of your cherry pie
With some whipped cream on it, that would taste so unreal
After we're done I see you sucking on a cigarette
You know there's nothing like a smoke after a good hearty meal

Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death
Ring the dinner bell, I'm starving to death

Yeah, Mike, those are pretty great lyrics! :thumb:

I also would have liked to seen She's So Young make the cut... always thought that was a pretty sweet song.

Still, how can you go wrong with that lineup? I definitely look forward to adding this to my music collection! :thumb:

Huh, how about that? I saw an online article on the Chart Attack website, and they listed the tracklist... except they missed She's So Young. So, I blame my mistake on them!

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out to me. :thumb:
