Neil Young - Prairie Wind - northern wave - 10-01-2005

I've listened to it about 10 times through now...can't say how great this record is. Love the dvd too....it's video of the songs actually being recorded...really cool to see. Once again, ol' Shakey delivers. When God Made Me seems to sum up the disease eating away at the U.S. in 3 1/2 minutes. A stunning final song to an amazing collection of songs.
Anyone else picked it up yet?

Ok I was out tonight and I just happend to pass a music store so I couldnt wait, I ran in and bought it. It is an amazing album, a must for any NY fan. I dont know where to begin, all I can say is go get it!!

Favorite Song so far:

When God Made Me - such a beautiful song, I love it. After hearing it at Live8, I couldnt wait to hear it again. Neil hasn't lost a thing. Just beautiful.

I'm gonna get this one also.... Always been a Neil fan but he really grabbed me on his last album/dvd..... the acoustic versions of Greendale are just silly.

Heard Gord D saw that Tour when Neil was in Toronto and really admired it's concept.

If your a huge fan watch out for RUST NEVER SLEEPS performed in November in Toronto by Classic Albums Live. The complete album.. note for note ... by session musicians... + many encore songs to celebrate Neils 60th Birthday....

Finally picked this up today. What a beautiful record! It just might be his best album since Harvest Moon.

I can't get enough of it... Every song is a trip. I really hope he tours behind this...Can you imagine Massey Hall for this one...."It's A Dream", that will hopefully become reality. Toronto's due for an acoustic show I think.

Finally picked up the cd/dvd on friday and been listening to it a lot since. I'm liking it a lot after 4 or 5 spins. Really like "This Old Guitar" and the nod to Harvest Moon in it.

The more I listen to this album, the more I like it. This one will definitely be on my top 10 list at the end of the year. Highlights for me are the Painter, No Wonder, This Old Guitar, When God Made Me, and Falling Off the Face of the Earth. Actually, the only song I can't seem to get into is He Was the King. It just kinda rubs me the wrong way. The other 9 tracks are all great though.
