Ok.. this may be a long shot but i am hoping that someone out there might have Sam Roberts Demo cd "Brother Down".
I would be freakin ecstatic if i could get my hand on a copy. I would buy it... but it aint available for obvious reasons.

People have it but have been asked specifically not to put it in circulation by the band. They even said pretty please with cherries on top.
Seriously, if by hook or crook you could get your hands on it, then you're in for a treat. The version of Paranoia on that record is circulating on the file sharers, and Sunny Lemon Tina was reused from the Northstar EP.

Speaking of Mr. Roberts, anybody know when his new album is supposed to be out? I know it was recorded in Australia, and apparently it's finished, but I haven't heard anything about a release date yet.

I'm not sure about the release date, but I recorded his show last week at Golfapalooza and a few new tracks were performed...
I'll get a DVD out soon.

That's a good find. Sam posted all those songs on his Myspace at the start of 07. Now, while I would love to take credit for at least part of this (I did, after all, ask him specifically about his plans to release some of the unreleased stuff in an interview I did for the Lakehead Argus), it would just be wrong of me to do so.
On the Myspace he also gave liner notes to some of the tracks. He's correct: odds are you'll never hear a girl say "For The Ladies" is her favourite song (but out of those he posted, it's certainly mine).
