Your Best Day All-Time - chicagoblackhawks77 - 08-29-2005

Was thinking about this as I drove in.

Close call.

Either-

A). Drinking coco-leaf tea, reading a book, and talking to a gorgeous peruvian girl in Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu.

B). Sitting with my girl friend this summer at pyramid point in the Platte Bay, Michigan, watching the sun set after a day of swimming / hiking.

What about you guys?

In all honestly, it was on December 3rd, 2004. Saint John, New Brunswick. I had second row centre tickets and backstage passes. I know it sounds cliché, especially on a T.Hip website, but its true.

The birth of my daughter. Hands down. I'm sure all the Daddies and Mommies among us would agree. When she entered the world, the first words out of my mouth, no word of a lie, were: "Oh my god. She looks like me..." The most magical and memorable moment of my life.

Not having done the marriage and/or baby thing yet, I think the best day would have to be one of the days when I was fortunate enough to go to Antarctica in Dec 1996. One day in particular stands out - it began with whales next to the ship at 7am, followed by a stop on an island filled with masses of penguins (including newly hatched chicks). The weather was gorgeous, we ate lunch outside on the deck, then sailed through bays filled with icebergs, seals, penguins, and more whales. Then stopped on the Antarctic continent itself and slogged up a huge hill through the snow for an amazing view of the area, and then slid all the way down on our butts. So much fun! After dinner more amazing views as we sailed to the furthest point south on the trip where we had constant daylight. Stayed up till 3am taking photos just mesmerized by what I was seeing.

Yeah, that was a good day. :thumb:

Every day with my daughter is the best day of my life, as clicheish as that sounds.

but outside of that, I can think of a doozy. When I lived in Saskatoon (91-2000) I used to go to a folk music festival in northern SK...5 years in a row. It is in an idealic (sp?) location in the woods, and the atmosphere there is truly amazing. In 2000, on the Friday night of the festival, the crowd was not only treated to some fantastic mainstage performances, but there was one of the most amazing lightening shows I have ever seen. The sky was filled with sheet lightening for almost 2 hours, but not a drop of rain fell, then it ended and the clouds cleared to reveal a beautiful full moon and some amazing northern lights. It was one of those have-to-be-there moments.

11th b-day at MLG for the Smashing Pumpkins was pretty sweet too, that was the day i knew that i wanted to be a musician/and.or/performer w/e...
