Just wondering if anybody else has picked up the new trews record. it's been over a week and i can't put it down. just curious to see what others think of the album :thumb:

As a lot of you know, I'm a big fan of the Trews. And it's a really good disc, with tracks 2 through 6 all kicking my ass, Ana and Mia (track 10) as well as the final track on the album. While I don't think this will be their apex, it's certainly a leap from last time, and they are one of the most promising young Canadian bands out there I think.
As for Chart, who cares what that magazine thinks. It prides itself on being the Canadian voice for music, but I find, more often than not, it misses the boat, focussing on the soulless artists this country produces instead of some of the more important, young bands (aside from the May cover feature on the Weakerthans...however, I had problems with that feature too, as it only interviewed one member of the quartet.)

I picked it up as soon as it came out, its an amazing cd, they are one of my fav. bands.

Really, I didn't know they had a new record. These guys have always impressed me live, I'll have to pick it up. Glad to see they thanked The Hip, on the previous record they thanked everybody in Canadian music except the boys.

Yet another idiotic comment from Chart Magazine. Those folks really have no clue. Seriously, how long can they keep playing up the "all Hip fans are jocks" angle. It's comments like that that make you realize why Gord's hall of fame acceptance speech/poem contained so much venom aimed at critics. It warmed my heart when he defended us like that.

Not all of the Hip's fans are jocks, but most of the jocks are Hip fans...that's the way i put it, anyway.

I just moved to North bay for school this year, and the Trews are playing a show on Campus on Wednesday! I'm pretty excited for that. I've listened to Den Of Theives 3 or 4 times so far, and I like it more each time.

I think they're playing an acoustic set if I read correctly over on their forum...you're in for a treat

They are indeed playing an acoustic set. I don't know if I'll go though because I'll have been at school since 8am and I have no one to go with (and I know no one in the town...
)Sam Roberts is also playing here in N Bay on the campus next week!

Sam is here next week too, but I will be stuck where I am now, work. I'll get to see him in Montreal in a few weeks, and The Trews I'll see opening for Robert Plant in a few weeks
