Stones in Toronto - akoso - 08-09-2005
I heard about tickets going on sale tomorrow for a Stones gig in Toronto. The venue hadn't been confirmed, but it was 98% certain to be at the Phoenix. Apparently details (show time, location, ticket sale info) will be out tomorrow.
Anyone else know anything else?

Q 107 is apparently carrying the show live to air.
Question is, do I skip work to line up for a Stones club show? I mean, they disappointed me at Sars fest (after all, they followed AC/DC), but it's (in the immortal words of an old 'Tales from the Hip' newsletter) "the Rolling Fuckin' Stones" in an 800 or so person venue.

I couldn't imagine them playing there...should be a blast. Hopefully a Hipbaser will be lucky enough to go and bring back a nice review for us!

According to CFRB 1010 am in Toronto:
Capacity of the Phoenix: 1100
Number of tickets being given to friends/industry types: at least 600
Number of people in line at 6:00 am waiting to buy tickets: More than 600
Hmmm.... there are going to be a lot of pissed off fans outside the Phoenix around 9:00 am today.

I was one of them....I got in line around 12:30am this morning. Throughout the night, people were doing counts of the line. All estimates put myself and the surround people between 320 to 380. The number of tickets available to the public was estimated to be between 400-500. We figured we were all okay, but it would be close. At about 9:30am, somebody with a wristband stopped and talked with a friend ahead of us. The guy with the band was around number 200, and said there were 400 total. The line moved one more time, and then the police & security began announcing the show was sold out. I figured there was still about 100 people in front of us, so either a lot of people jumped the line, or all estimates were wrong.
Either way, I'm exhausted & ready for a nap

Well, not confirmed, but from another Website I frequent I beleive TommGunn is in!! He was in line yesterday around noon with about 20 others...........
Can't wait to hear about it Tommy!! Here's hoping for a boot too!!

Shitty news man. Sorry to hear that. I heard on the radio this morning that they only ended up giving out 300 tickets, so that might've been the problem.

I couldn't believe it, I tune into Q107 last night for their "Live Stones From The Pheonix" broadcast..........what a joke
They played the "Palais Royale" bootleg from 2002 and tried to passit off as last nights show!!
The prick DJ continually stated "live from the Pheonix".....what a bloody joke..........I hope someone there gets in shit over this........talk about false advertising.........
and before anyone asks in regards to flase advertising, yes, many time throuhgout the day they advertised it as "live from the Pheonix, as it happens".........ya right
As for the real show, here is the setlist, pretty sweet..........
