Just found this link on www.nhl.com if you like to "dress up" your messenger you can download emoticons, backgrounds and display pics of your favorite NHL team..yeah I know big deal. Big Grin

In other hockey news, I see the Great One has decided to try his hand at coaching.. www.tsn.com How do you think he will do? I never really saw him as a coach, but its not like he doesn't know much about the game, he'll have his hands full with the Coyotes, they aint looking too great at the moment. But good for him I hope he does well.

Outside of goaltending, I think Phoenix is actually looking quite good for the upcoming season - Doan is a star, Nagy is about to be a star, Comrie (while a spoiled brat) is a talent, and they've got some depth with Nedved, Hull, Ricci, and Sapryken. They've got 18 players under contract for $24 million, which means they still have A LOT of cap room to play around with for those final few roster spots.

I think Gretzky put himself in a good situation. He's proven time and time again that he's a smart man.

They are weak in goal and this team really hasnt gelled..yet. I dont see them as a playoff threat in the west myself, I do like Doan and Nagy. The west will be dominated by Canadian teams this year CAL, EDM and Van are strong, Colorado is still a decent team, but they will miss Foote big time and San Jose and Detroit will be there, the rest is a toss-up. Columbus..will they break out this year and make the playoffs? Minnesota and Nashville could/should get back in again, the west should be interesting. I think St.Louis and Dallas will crash and burn (I hope)!

Given Gretzky's track record with all things hockey so far, I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

Very True, and he is saving some money for the team. Recover some of that 20 mil Phoenix lost last year.
