Your favorite....Whoo! - joshwayy - 06-25-2005

Ok, having a grand time going through the beers and listening to some tunes. I was wondering what people thought their favorite Gord Whoo! was. Like in The Dark Canuck, near the end...Whoo! I just heard a great one in the High Seria Music Show of 1995..Whoo!
Rock On...

I like the "Whoo...WHOO!" right before the bridge on the LBU version of "Twist my Arm"... but i'm usually doing my own "whoo!"s between every other line when i'm listening to the Hip... 8)

Once you get a few good ones, you should do a poll.

Best studio Whoo!: Summer's Killin's Us.

Love that one.

I pick this one. Doesn't get better than that.

I guess I haven't paid this close attention. If I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have been able to name any songs with whoos in them.

my favorite whoo.....Ric Flair.

Whoooooo!

Listen to High Sierra, July 1, 1995. Tons of Whoooos. My favourite is at the end of NOIS, when Gords talking about a grizzly bear in the woods. He throws in 2 or 3 in a short span. Just classic stuff.

SIKU. The best, because it makes a decisive statement about the blown note on 'praises' just before it---that statement being, 'fuck post-edits, we're rockin' out!!'

While we're on the topic of expectorations, can I just mention how much I like the weird grunt Gord does after the first chorus of 'It Can't Be Nashville Every Night?' '...every night...UNH!...' Etc.

Always good to see new funky noises being introduced by Mr. Downie.

Are you thinking of the one after the big long "pra-hey-hey-e-yay-ses" part? 'Cause that's more of a "Whew!" then a "whoo!". Man did just stretch out one word for four measures, you know.

Summer's Killing Us rules! "Whoo"

Anyone notice the grunt Gord also does now after the 2nd "In the colour of the night...ugh..." in Good Life?

I love that

My favourite has to be in the music video (live) for Twist My Arm, followed by the excellent gord-out during the instrumental.

- patiodweller - 06-26-2005

Got to be Grace 2 at Woodstock '99 when Gord comes out looks at the crowd and gets pumped up and lets out a genuine "wheww!!" Exact quote: "Wheww!! It's us! It's really us!"

- j-monster - 06-26-2005

Can't argue with the whoo!'s for Summer is Killing Us and the LBU version of Twist My Arm, and the uh! (or whatever) from It's A Good Life, especially live.

Those rock!
