White Water Rafting - LoftyPines - 06-07-2005
Hey All,
I am headed up to Ottawa to go White Water Rafting. The resort is Wilderness Tours. Just wondering if anyone had done it. Any tips for things to do at the resort, what to bring, etc.
It's University weekend so it should be insane!

I did a story on them once for the school rag (except when it came to a certain DW's entertainment section of course
) and got the full tour and was able to tag along on a few adventures. Top notch operation. My best friend's boyfriend works for them, he might be pulling you out of something very soon. Are you going in Ottawa or Pembroke?

One of my good friends, who happens to live in the apartment one floor down from me, worked there and produced their videos for the last 5+ years. It looks incredible, and the event videos are awesome!

Very cool. Thanks guys! I am headed to Ottawa. Looks like the weather is going to be good, so it shouldnt be too cold to camp. Everyone I have talked to has said it's top notch through and through so I am looking forward to the experience!
Can't picture too many better ways to spend a weekend: cold beer, hot sun, camping, rafting, and an all night bonfire! :thumb:

I just went downstairs to chat with my buddy, and he said that no matter what, you'll have a great time. Rafters is a great party... much like a killer cottage party.
He's not working until the 25th weekend, otherwise he'd be able to hook you up with an amazing trip video.

What's your buddies name? Ask him if he knows Jeff Keshen at WT, or Jeremy Shutt or any of the folks at the Algonquin Outdoor Adventure program. Never know, small world... we may be hangin' with the same crew.

I've done it many times, it is a great weekend. If I can make one suggestion, get a cabin to sleep in, beats the heck out of a tent!

i went on that about 4-5 years ago, had a great time,
are you going 12 man and 6 man rafting (2 days)??
IMO 6 man rafting is where its at, everyone in going in the water

I went with Wilderness Tours 3 years ago. It turned out to be their first outing of the year (early May). The water was ridiculously cold but it was still an awesome time. You'll have a great time.

Everyone I have talked to has said that it's going to be a hell of a time! Looking forward to it. I just hope we can get a little bit of sleep at night. Don''t want to end up feeling like Chris was the other day (Hungover that is). Though I am sure as soon as I hit the water I will wake right up!

Its an awesome time. I did it a few years ago. The riding during the day is great, but the nighttime there is great too. You really dont get any sleep for the whole weekend.
