Stones in Calgary - aaronck - 05-10-2005

october 28, tickets CA $60.00 - CA $350.00!!!!!!!!!!
Man oh man, I can take my whole family for under $1000, that's pretty sweet.

They're also selling fan club memberships for only $100...I guess they took some marketing tips from Motley Crue....

You would think after all these years of touring, and making gazillions of dollars they just might do a tour that doesnt require people to take out loans and sell kidneys. Talk about gouging the fans. Ouch!

I go...if i get free tickets. would never buy.

More like the other way around. The Stones have had the fan club memberships since before their last tour.

the stones = the most overrated rock band of all time

they are now... - aaronck - 05-10-2005

The Stones, at their peak, were an amazing band. Most stuff done after Tatoo you isn't nearly up to snuff, but before that there was a lot of quality. Just give Let it Bleed a listen, or the often mentioned Exile on Main Street. I also really liked Sticky Fingers, and think think that they stand very well against anyone, even, gasp, the Beatles. It's tough to say what they would be producing now if they were still around, imagine the drivel being released now by Paul, but under the Beatles name.

Don't get me wrong though, I would go for free, that's about it. They're just an old shadow of the band they used to be

The $350.00 seats are directly ON the stage. Every other seat in the place probably comes in between $60 (nosebleeds) and $150 (floor). Still, in general, cheaper than U2....

I also feel that it would be a shame if I didn't see the stones once before they retire.

If that's your criteria you've got roughly 20 more years.

A buddy of mine was allowed to buy 1 seat per season ticket he has - he ended up on the floor, row 19 for 350 bucks per seat.
