Just thought I'd let everyone out there in Leafnation know that it's been a full year since the boys in blue and white hit the ice. How appropriate that I heard 50MC on the radio today......

Oh well, they would've just choked out in the playoffs anyways. And its also been 38 years since they won a cup too! The Leafs are cursed just like the Red Sox were :lol: :lol:

The Ontario Hockey League's Oshawa Generals spent part of Thursday announcing plans to draft 14-year-old John Tavares, while the Toronto Maple Leafs were being linked to another teenage sensation.
The Toronto Maple Leafs reportedly would like junior star Sidney Crosby to play for their AHL team next season.
The National Hockey League team has approached Rimouski Oceanic star centre Sidney Crosby, 17, about possibly playing for the Toronto Marlies, the Toronto Star reported on Friday.
Crosby's agent Pat Brisson declined comment when asked if he had talked with Leafs general manager John Ferguson, but said the Marlies – Toronto's American Hockey League affiliate – are a possible destination for his client.
"There's always a possibility, assuming the lockout continues and there's no NHL, that the American Hockey League will be an option," Brisson said, "and the Toronto Marlies are perhaps a better option within the American Hockey League."
The Marlies are moving to Toronto from St. John's next season and will play out of the Ricoh Coliseum on the Exhibition grounds.
On Thursday, Ferguson said the Leafs also are intrigued with the possibility.
"I couldn't imagine a better destination should he choose to play somewhere other than the National Hockey League," Ferguson told The Fan 590, a Toronto all-sports radio station.
During the interview, however, Ferguson continually denied the Leafs were going after Crosby.
Crosby, currently playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final against the Halifax Mooseheads, will weigh his options after the season. Europe also remains a possibility.

Ugh, just looking at that logo makes my skin crawl. :lol:
Also, a moral dilemma. I'm currently in a (semi) long-distance relationship with a rabid Calgary Flames fan...like, she used to own season tickets before moving down here. At present, I have a Flames' flag (small one, mind) hanging in my room next to my "GO LEAFS GO" playoff flag from 2002. In no way, shape or form does this indicate that I'm converting. It's just a reminder of her...y'know, like a picture or something. However, two people have called me on this as a manifestation of sports bigamy. Is this true? Do I need to take the flag down? Am I sullying my relationship with the Leafs by having it up? Discuss.

I couldn't care less about Crosby at this point in his career, he hasn't shown me anything to make me think he is goign to be a superstar.

The only thing I'm sick of more than lockout talk is Toronto Maple Leafs talk. This past year has been refreshing in the sense that we haven't had to listen to Leafs fans misguided claims of winning the Cup only to see them fall short which was an obvious outcome the whole time to us Leaf haters...actually now that I mention it I kind of miss that!

Tough call Steve-o... but surely there has to be something else you can hang up to remind you of her rather than the Flames flag. Not that I have anything against the Flames, but you are standing on slightly shaky ground here, I think. In any case, good luck resolving your dilemma. :thumb:
