Happy Tax Day to all our American buddies! - Stephen Dame - 04-15-2005

Well, there are a few differences between our two nations, but getting bent over the tax table in April isn't one of them.

We feel your pain, and here's hoping Uncle Sam is a little more gentle with you than Jimmy The Rabid Tax Beaver is to us.

And excuse me... I'm having a vision... I predict that your evening newscasts will be full of stories and shots of people lined up at the post office to mail their returns at the deadline...

Mine were submitted online and deposited directly to my acct, I've had them for a while. My boyfriend and I both got lots of money back this year, it was most certainly welcomed.

Inevitability of Death and Taxes.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'm not sure what the equivalent programs are called in the US... but for the Canadian members, when it comes to doing taxes, QuickTax is your friend. :thumb:

I'm an accountant, so I could do the returns by hand... but geez, why the heck would I want to do that??? :?

I dont know how you guys do it (accountants). When I took income tax, it was one of the most boring classes for me. The only part I see where it is rewarding is the ability to use the law and the statutes and thinking up ways to avoid paying tax. It can be very lucrative.

At the same time, I think you need a unique mind to be good at it.

Yep, that's me... I'm unique, all right!

Unfortunately I am not rich enough right now to take advantage of those loopholes to reduce my taxes Sad ... oh well, maybe someday.
