Forgive me, but I have now heard it from 3 people: The Hip will open for The Rolling Stones at the old papal site near Magnetic Hill this coming Labor Day weekend. I have no proof but have also heard from a friend of mine in St. John's that The Hip are booked there "sometime in the fall". Cross your collective fingers!

well, there was a story on cbc.ca that moncton is definitely trying to get the stones. we will know by the end of the month if it is going to happen.

they are planning for a late summer/early fall show... after the tourist season has ended

Well, it's not St. John's, but they are playing the Salmon Festival iin Grand Falls, NF on July 16th...

So weird. The Stones in my hometown. I had heard about this rumor and was thinking about checking them out finally (supposedly being their last tour and all :roll: )

But add the Hip to that....then it would be a definite! Considering that my parents are but 5 minutes away from the concert site...yeah....I'd be hard pressed to find a reason NOT to be there.
