OK, so I'm intrigued about the new PlayStation Portable unit that is out, but I have a few questions/reservations. I'm on the road a fair bit, and would love to be able to play some games and watch some DVD's while I'm in all of the hotels (pay per porn starts to really add up)

My questions are:
1. Are these games and movies burnable or do I have to pay for each one?
2. Will they play MP3's... again something that I will burn
3. Can you even buy the little mini disks that all of the games and movies come out on?
3. Do you think it is worth it at all?

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Is it worth it? I say no, not for $300+dollars it aint. Especially when you have to shell out over $100 bucks for a 1GB memory stick just to be able to store music files and whatnot. (better off with an iPod) Its a cool system for gaming, but I would wait on it anyway, people are already complaining about the control stick among other things, so don't be surprised if they come out with a re-designed model in the next year. I personally would save my money for Playstation3 its gonna be the best, or an Xbox2.

All I know is watch out for those ghosts. One second you're chasing them, and then the music changes, and they're chasing you! It's a harrowing experience...

But despite no Pacman (or even Ms. Pacman fer goodness sake) support, the thing looks damned impressive in the ads... but I still pine for the days of the Turbo Graphix 16.

1. The games and movies come on UMD. Universal Media Disk. They are smaller then a gamecube disk, therefore you cannot burn them like a dvd. However you can rip any dvd to your desktop harddrive and then convert that file to an MPEG4 file and burn it to a PSP memory card. Sounds hard but its really easy.

2. Yes it plays MP3's. But you have to purhcase a bigger memory stick (ie 256mb, 512mb,1gb) to store more songs just like a normal mp3 player

4. By the time your hooked up with memory stick and game your looking at $500 + dollars. However you'll have an mp3 player, a movie player (in which you can "rip" your movies to memory card, or buy the UMD movies) and you have a gaming system. The battery will last you for about 7 hours of gaming and 3 hours of movies. Battery,charger,headphones,carry case included in box.

I bought one saturday and i love it. It is the sharpest screen (i forgot you can also put pictures on it) and since i didnt have an mp3 player i killed 2 birds with one stone. You have to see one in action in person to get the feel for it.

Ps3 will most likely be out in xmas 2006

Xbox 2 (or "360") will be out this xmas...... it will house 3 , 3.0 ghz processers plus lots o' ram and a camera for in game pictures and live settings. They are estimating the price of the system with a game and controller with tax to be near $1000.00. So SAVE UP!!

(Also ps3 will have Blue-ray discs so the price of games is going to be 69.99-99.99)

I was lucky enough to get a job that i would have fun at (well as much fun as work can get)
