$75K for David Spade?
$100K for Huey Lewis?
$40K for Richard Marx?
And in the
huh? category, OLP asks for more than the Hip.

2 of them are performers, but WTF does David Spade do? He's not a stand up comedian. Does he rehash his old days with Chris Farley and adam Sandler on SNL? Talk about how Phil Hartman's death ruined his career? I mean, come on. I couldn't sit and listen to him for an hour and a half.
He's only as good as the suporting actors around him.
Joe Dirt was kinda funny in a Trailer park boy's sense. But Jeesus Christ, the only reason I watched Joe Dirt was for the cameo's.
I wouldn't donate a can of food to charity to watch David Spade.

It is an American site, so OLP asking more than the Hip makes sense, as OLP has more commercial success in the US... but in my own personal 'huh?' category, $20,000 for Pauly Shore? Tasteless burn-out comedy shouldnt' have such a hefty price tag...
$100,000-$150,000 for Maroon 5? Let's wait two years and see what they'll work for. Their price tag will drop like Bank shares on Black Tuesday... Call me anti-cliche, but you really don't get what you pay for these days...

I never understood why OLP get such a bad wrap from the hipbase. I have seen the live show about 5 times and they have put on a killer show every time.

$20K for the Spin Doctor's?
Geez by now you think they would play just for the free Buffet table?

so let me get this straight ... we could have the boys do a private show, or for the same price (10-15k) we could get bob saget. Tough choice!
So whos up for pooling money together.. 60 hipbasers * $250.00=15,000
Its too bad the hip turned us down before

I wonder if there's a 'Sagetbase'.

This is exactly how the private show idea got rolling last time.

I thought when we approached them with the idea, they were already booked up for the year, i didnt think they straight out turned us down

You are correct. One song it is. He tours mostly with Kenny Chesney anyways so I'm sure he makes a shit load with him.

Our Lady Peace have been complete shit ever since Turner and Lanni left the picture, nowadays they're just an uninspired, watered down, half-assed version of the band they used to be, and on top of all that, Raine can't sing worth shit anymore. it's sad, because for the later half of the 90's they were one of the best rock bands around, not just in Canada, but in the entire world...then they lost the two biggest influences on their sound and enlisted the services of Bob "Doesn't Know How To" Rock .

I dont think that the loss of Turner was that big of a deal. I actually enjoy the live show now more without him. Their latest effort wasnt the best ever but I found it pretty good and the live cd is kick ass.
