Okay so here is the question, what would your dream band be? Or, what musicians could you see sit making a cool group?

Here's the kicker : NO TRAGICALLY HIP (Sorry!)

Here's mine:

This one is composed of guys and gals from Canadian Bands.

Vocals Holly McNarland
Lead Guitar John Samson (Weakerthans)
Rhythm Guitar Ross Childress (Hurst) (Formerly Of Collective Soul)
Bass Guitar Ken Tizzard - (Thornley) (Formerly Of The Watchmen)
Drums Sammy Kohn (Watchmen)

This one is one that I think would have a cool sound:

Vocals Jack White (White Stripes)
Lead Guitar Johnny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Rhythm Guitar Stefan Olsdal (Placebo)
Bass Guitar Flea (RHCP)
Drums Josh Freese (Perfect Circle)

Oh, penguin. penguin, penguin, penguin. You Took Plant and Page from the mighty Zep, but took Geddy Lee over JP Jones??

If a case can be made for any of those Zep boys being the greatest rock'n'roller to ever play their respective role/instrument in a band, JPJ is the one! To each, his own, I guess....

Bass: John Paul Jones
Percussion: John Bonham
Vocals: Robert Plant

Zeppelin IS a "Dream Band", that's why they are the greatest ever!

Maybe I'd approve of substituting Chris Goss (Masters of Reality), Burton Cummings (The Guess Who), or Paul Stanley (Bad Company), for Plant.....

Here's mine, I opted for a 5 piece band, using rock n rollers from the past because I take it there are no limitations here...or do the people have to be alive? Anyways...

Vocals: Bonn Scott
Lead Guitar: Jimmy Page
Rhythm Guitar: Angus Young
Bass: John Paul Jones
Drums: John Bonham

I think for me the hardest was picking a singer, but I wanted someone with presence and a gritty rocking style, so I picked Scott. I think this band although to some may not be the greatest, I think they would be a powerhouse of rock and roll baby!

haha I was going to just put down Led Zeppelin, I agree with you but I felt I should mix it up a little bit. IMO John Paul Jones is the most underrated member of any band ever and Bonzo was simply amazing on the skins.

Singer: Bono (U2)
Guitar: Noel Gallagher (Oasis)
Guitar: Pete Townshend (The Who)
Bass: Paul McCartney (The Beatles)
Drums: Lars Ulrich (Metallica)

I have no idea what that would sound like, but they're all among the best at what they do (I honestly don't care if you don't like their regular music, they're all amazing musicians... And songwriters for that matter).

It'd would be interesting to see them anyway... A lot of ego there... I'm not sure that they'd be the "best" or a "dream" band, but I think they'd make interesting music...

Dream band is far too hard, because you can never say how well they'd work together, and when you span generations, you make it impossible to say that they'd all have the skills...

Thats one hell of a mix, im not sure what to make of it, together they would write some seriously happy- trippy shit, very cool picks!

Interesting group of fellows. Respectfully, I must say that in no way, shape, or manner do I consider Noel Gallagher an amazing musician but that's another story.

I can't really pick a dream band because I like a "GROUP" in every sense of the word. I like the "sum is better than the individual parts" theory which applies to the Hip and a few other of my favourite bands. I'll pick a few people anyway. How about:

DRUMS- Matt Cameron
BASS- John Entwistle
LEAD GUITAR- Jonny Greenwood
RHYTHM GUITAR- Neil Young
VOCAL- Neil Young

I know not all are living but it is a "fantasy" band.
