I was listening to this disc at work tonight for the first time in probably two years, and I almost forgot how great it is. It's definitely one of the best efforts of their career, and it also features one of my favorite album covers of all time. Nothing beats the joy of rediscovering an album you haven't listened to in a while. I love it!

I actually like PJ almost as much as the Hip...... (Probably my third fav, behind the Cure and Hip).
I guess mostly out of respect for them as one of the only bands who have survived the "grunge" era intact, with no deaths, and who still can put out some rocking, relevant tunes today.
I would love to see them in concert. I have the State College disc from their last tour, and man, it rocks!

No questions asked, an incredible record. A band that was happy to be making great music again, after No Code, which some found to be a serious drag (Though I enjoyed it) I'll stand by it, Do the Evolution is the best song of their career. Ed's potent anti-establishment fervour is littered throughout the record (Brain of J), and Stone and Mike's riffs make for great driving music. Though the Yield tour was the first time I ever had the oppurtunity to see a band live, which clearly designates this album as having a special place in my "ontology", I still think it's going to stand as one of their finest efforts....

I hated these dudes with a passion for a while, especially when Yield was released... but they've grown on me since. I like Vitalogy alright.

It's probably the most "fun" sounding Pearl Jam record if that makes any sense. Very bright and uplifting songs for the most part. If you like Yield I recommend taking a look at the Single Video Theory DVD which is the band in the studio for Yield.

Yes that is an amazing disc...but I think all their material is amazing. They are right up there with the Hip in my books. While I was in Vancouver last week, I rediscovered "VS" and haven't been able to stop listening to it. They are just a solid band that never disappoints. And no one has a voice like Eddie. Some may try but they just end up sounding ridiculous, ie) Creed.

scott staph had a decent voice, his problem was he tried to be just like Eddie instead of finding his own style of singing.
