There are entire university courses dedicated to discerning the finer points of an artist's lyrics...I took a course in icons of the 60s, we did Dylan, the Dead, Joni Mitchell, etc. Learned so much not just about the artists as people but where they came from, what experiences they had and what they saw going on in the world, totally made me think differently about music as art.

Challenging yourself to debate ideas about poetry/lyrics is an intellectual excercise that doesn't FEEL like an intellectual excercise. It's fun. I think you're being unduly harsh. Be more open-minded.

You ain't going to get much intellectual exercise at that site.

Check out the profound insights into Blow at High Dough, Cordelia, and Nautical Disaster, for starters.....

Yes, I have been posting on that site. I was "madscooterfoo9" but then changed to "proudestermonkey". I thought about posting this awhile ago, but didn't want to offend lord brazle and his site about the same topic :lol: .

No kidding... I'm still trying to wrap my head around one guy's comment that Blow at High Dough is a song about gay porn. Like, whaaaat?? Confusedhock: Confusedcratch:
