London Knights... unbeaten in 30 games! - j-monster - 12-10-2004
Congratulations to the London Knights, who have set a new all-time Canadian record for longest undefeated streak by a major junior team. 30 games in a row unbeaten... 28 wins and two ties... what an incredible accomplishment! This is an amazing story, and one good thing about the NHL lockout is that the Knights are getting their due for their success this season.

Yah I was just reading this. Pretty wicked, eh? You know something that's really impressive, in last night's tie game, they set the record against a team that has beaten them six times in a row. They had to really pull out all the stops to get the job done.
They're the best major junior team there has ever been, because the previous record holder had only 24 of 29 games in the win column; the Knights won 28 out of their first 29 to tie the record. Good job guys!!!

Go Knights! What a game, I think they had like 50+ shots, credit to Guelph's goalie, but what a record, I hope they win the memorial cup, now that would be the icing on the cake. This city hasnt really had anything to cheer about for ages, so this is great. :thumb:

Guelphs goalie was amazing. Those are 2 real good teams. Lots of skill on the London team.

Well, it wasn't consecutive, but in the calendar year 2004, Guelph did beat London six times... twice in regular season and four times in a playoff series which went seven games and was a heartbreaking way for London to end last season. I think only one other team has defeated London in 2004... and now this season only two teams have done so much as take a point off them.
And I agree with others who posted here... I watched the game, and the Guelph goalie, Adam Dennis, was sensational... he's the only reason Guelph got the tie. Still, it's funny that even though Guelph aren't having a great season (under .500, last in their division), they still play the Knights extremely tough... one of the other times London played Guelph, they had to go to overtime to win.
It shows the character of the Knights (who certainly get a large measure of that from Dale and Mark Hunter, co-owners and coach & GM) that they can face their nemesis with the record on the line, and facing a hot goalie, yet still do enough to break the record. Tremendous accomplishment by a tremendous team... believe me, this team will not just be there at the Memorial Cup, but look likely to win it all!

Yes, I know that post was incorrect... I was trying to clarify what he was trying to say, for him, you and everyone else. London set the record against a team that recently has been their arch-nemesis... that was my point.
And thank you for clarifying the results for last season, I thought it was one team other than Guelph, but I checked and you were right.

Make that 31 games unbeaten, with an impressive come from behind, overtime victory. Down 3-0 against Kitchener, going into the third, the knights pulled off the victory infront of another packed house!

Didn't they also lose two players to the Team Canada selection camp yesterday too? Cause that makes it even more impressive, since those players would be the best ones on the team...
