Gnome stolen
I came home from a wonderful Canada Day weekend to find in my front garden a small computer monitor. It had a blue ball cap on top and branches with mitts on the side. On the front screen was a piece of paper with the word Nome.
I am now missing a very cute garden gnome that should sit next to my front step.
I am sure this must be a graduation stunt and I appreciate the fun teens have when they are on their way to high school, but their fun should not be at my expense.
I am asking if my little friend can be brought back so that he can sit with his pals in my front garden. While you are returning my buddy, please take back your monitor, cap and mitts.

Gnome wasn't stolen, only taken on holiday
I wrote to the Guardian in early July (published July 9/04) about my stolen gnome.
It appears I may have been slightly mistaken. He wasn't stolen just borrowed for a summer holiday trip.
On the weekend of October 16th he returned from a fabulous summer vacation along with his pictures. We found him sitting in his usual place in the front garden with a happy grin on his face.
His travels took him all over the area, from a wedding in Niagara Falls, with visits to horror museums and a picture with the tall man.
A wonderful time was had at Wild Water Kingdom, but his hosts climbed some rocks and they were escorted out.
Other trips included the Molson Indy, rock climbing, a rodeo, a few hot babes and of course mini putting.
Towards the end of summer, they took in the CHIN Picnic and had their pictures taken with Mr. Chin himself. They also had a great time at the famous No. 5 Drive-In in Oakville. (Brings back memories for me as well)
My gnome arrived home safe and sound even though I had given up on his return. Although I do not approve of way it happened, I and my family and friends found this very interesting, much like an Urban Legend.
Thank you for bringing him home.

I laughed so hard I actually cried and I haven't cried since I was like seven or something. Thanks for that. I had no idea what it was about when I read the first one and then the second one made me laugh myself up and into the kitchen.
