Bush made a funny!! - highlander - 11-30-2004

I actually laughed with GW instead of at him tonight when I was watching the news. He said,"It was good to see the people out waving...with all 5 of their fingers."

I near split my sides laughing.

disclaimer: I was stoned at the time.

high

So was he. I was waving with one.

What a tool. That's hillarious...it'll be on letterman or kimmel tomorrow night for sure.

I saw that and I thought it was pretty damned funny and I wasn't high:-D

I think that may be the smartest thing he has ever said.

Pat

No. It just shows that he understands that everyone thinks he is a tool, and yet he does nothing to change it.

I think "everyone" may be an exaggeration. Do a lot of CANADIANS think he is a tool? Definitely. Lucky for him he doesn't need to impress us omniscient Canadians with our innate ability to solve every world problem. However, it seems the election in November points to the fact that the majority of Americans DO NOT think he is a tool. He has his electorate convinced...but we Canadians are so much more smart than the Americans that we have him figured out.

Yeah, but it was a small majority Smile

The whole Pearson Building Press Conference was full of one-liners. I'd go so far as to say he won over some in the crowd... at least on a personal level. A reporter from the Gazette said:

"Mr. President, I'm going to ask this question in French, but it's for both of you so you may want to use the translation..."

Dubbya: "Well do I have too? Maybe I don't wanna hear the question. Heh, A-heh, heh, heh"

That got a pretty good laugh too.

Bush just made reference to Rick Mercer's now famous "Jean Poutine" bit from 2000... I'm betting David Frum helped with that one.

Very good self depricating joke though. I'm sure Mercer will make mention of it Monday, he was here in Ottawa for the protest yesterday as well.

- highlander - 12-01-2004

Yeah the office burst out laughing when he said that. Smile

I wonder if Gord will have any rants/comments during the show this weekend about his visit.
