Chex Mix - Jenna_Bird - 11-30-2004

I bought a bag of Chex Mix for the first time in a couple years, and I have a question. When did they replace the peanuts with breadsticks and nasty rye circles? My opinion of the snack has been permanently soured. :x

Don't know if you have them in The States, but "Bits and Bites" snack mix here in Canada is seriously the bee's knees. I'd punch my grandmother in the mouth for the last bag... it's addictive stuff, and it's got pretzel sticks and cheese nips.... excuse me while I head to the Corner Store...

 ...and what's the deal with Chex Mix? Thanks Rory, I'll certainly take that as a compliment. Speaking of Seinfeld, there was the funniest bit on Conan a couple weeks ago about highly specific TV channels, and one was "People Stuck Under Large Objects Channel", and it had a refridgerator, with "Jerry" stuck under it. All you could see was tight tapered jeans, and very white sneakers; when it was combined with the voice over of, "What's the deal with this refridgerator", it was absolutely priceless.

jenna im partial to the nasty rye circles. I could do without the breadsticks though. The peanuts were never easy to grasp in the bag...it was too damn hard to get ahold of em. And i hear peanuts stain your teeth so they are doin you a great service by 86ing them

You know, I kinda like the rye chips, but recently, I realized that the only true reason I ever eat Chex Mix is for the Chex. So, I began making my own, the old-school way, but omitting the peanuts / pretzels / doodles / nips / etc. Just Chex, butter, salt, worcestershire, garlic & onion powder.

Perfect!

The best stuff is the "Doritos snak(sic) mix". I can forgive the atrocious intentional-misspelling-so-it-sounds-cool-and-hip for the salty/cheesy/pretzly goodness.
