I wonder why London is starting at 8PM and everywhere else looks to be 7:30??

Probably because they know us Londoners need extra time to 'prep' for the show. Time for a couple more lefties and an extra brown pop for everyone! Will be a great show, the JLC is an excellent venue. Not to big. I've got 11th row on the floor so should be nice.

Talking to RB once he mentioned that london was 'home away from home' for the hip early in their career. He said once they'd played everywhere in kingston they'd load up their van and head down the 401 to London. He mentioned that's why they did 2 camp trilliam shows in London for the PP pre-tour and they filmed them for a Much Music special. I was too young but my mom remembers them playing free shows in the park. Ahhh the good old days.

Can't wait for saturday!

I was just checking the venue website (to confirm directions/parking) and I noticed that there is an evening Santa Claus parade downtown on Saturday. Does any know how this may affect getting into town/parking.

Consider parking on one of the residential streets off of Wellington but south of downtown (South St., Hill St., Grey St., Simcoe St. etc) and then just walking the 10-15 mins to the JLC. After the concert you'll probably save time compared to getting your vehicle out of the downtown. Just a thought.

I'm very excited to be going to The Hip concert in London. I checked the city of London website to find out the details of the Santa Claus Parade. The parade is through the downtown area and is set to begin at 6:00 pm, just prior to the 8 pm start of The Hip show. The parade is to last approximately 1 1/2 hours. The JLC Arena is at 99 Dundas St and the main parade route is Dundas St. It begins at Dundas St & Ridout St and travels east to Dundas St & Dorinda St.

I am not from London, but I think the JLC Arena is near the beginning of the parade route. There should be lots of people, traffic and road blockages. Parking should be scarce I imagine. Plan ahead and maybe I'll see some of you there.

You are correct Hugh23, the parade starts basically AT the JLC. You will love the venue, it's going to be a great show.

There's is lots of underground parking right beside the JLC underneath the 'Covent Garden Market' You'll need to get there early because of the parade. Dundas and Ridout is pretty much right at the JLC. Robinson Hall if anyone is going there first is just across from Covent Garden Market front courtyard.
