New Nashville Video - Over Opiated - 11-07-2004

Greetings,
I am curious if anyone has seen the new video for "Nashville". I am quite pissed about the lack of airplay the hip have been getting the last couple of years. The hip are an excellent opportunity for Muchmusic and Muchmoremusic to fulfill their Cancon content with really great music.

It is upsetting to see that hip videos are not even shown on the countdowns. It was neat to see the vaccination scar video on their website, but they haven't yet posted their new one.

I am just curious if anyone has seen it, what it's like, and when it is on T.V.? Canadian music stations need to do a much better job at promoting our Canadian Icons and stop with the latest US flavour of the month.

I started that thread a week ago today, and right after I sent an email to the <a href="mailto:tth@thehip.com">tth@thehip.com</a> asking them why the new video had not been announced through the website. I made it clear that I wanted to see the video, many others did too, and that something as simple as a weblink would satisfy my hunger for the new video... 6 days and no reply... maybe the webmaster is on vacation....(again)....

I guess so... I haven't seen it and nobody on here has said they've seen it but on the MMM Top10, Nashville is one of the options to vote for (which I have done about 25 times a day for the last two or three days...) I had my eyes glued to MMM today and I only saw ABAC this morning at like 6 am.... but MMM sucks. I, too, hope someone gets this thing online somewhere.... soon...

Question: with all our thousands of members, is there nobody with an inside line at one of the record companies or TV stations?? Nobody who could anonymously and accidentally let a recording of the video slip through their fingers?? On some other band boards there are people who leak things that fans want which don't in any way deprive the artist of monies legally acquired...

I just find it hard to believe that with the technology today, that it is so hard for a band to get their videos out to the fans. What is particularly upsetting is that The Hip tried to be so technologically advanced during the release of the IVL album (eg. Hip Club - now a complete joke), and now they can't even keep their web site up to date. What's going on? What happened to keeping the fans happy?

I have noticed that streaming video is available on other musician web sites such as Pearl Jam and Green Day....what wrong with The Hip?

Being as they no longer get much airplay on the TV stations, you would thing that they would be eager to get it on the website.

I JUST SAW THE NEW VIDEO!

All that MuchMoreMusic has paid off, I saw it about ten minutes ago. It started at exactly 3:51 a.m. in my timezone (I'm in Petawawa, Ontario right now). I must say "Ultra-frickin-cool!" No storyline, no fancy stuff. Just the Hip jamming. Alot of images on the screen and overlapping (kinda like ABAC only in colour and not as many) Notable mentions; a sweating Gord after about a minute and a half, the infamous "beardless-baker" and the video ended with Fay setting his sticks across the drum that had a piece of duct-tape across it (I don't know if that's usual for drummers to have duct-tape on their drums or not). The whole thing reminded me of the IBE promo pics from awhile back, the one with them all jamming. I'll find the link to them and post them so yall know what I'm saying.

I think I may be the first, so I had to post it. :thumb:

Holy crap...congratulations dude. I may be getting paid to stay up this late, but I'd say you got the sweetest prize of all.

Now all we have to do is make sure all the millions of people watching TV at 3:51 am make it known that they loved the video and want to see it during sane hours.

The jamming one of them all is the one the video reminded me of...

I hope they get on the MMMTop10 thing... not an extravagant or different video in any respects but it was still cool. There was a lot of close-ups of Gordie and his mouth and the mic and stuff... Everyone keep your eyes peeled... and expect to suffer; I had just finished watching that crappy Shania/Mark McGrath video "I'm having a party" or something... it was worth it!!!

That website lets you vote for a particular song as many times as you like - I thought there would be some kind of restriction or something but no.
