Maxim Magazine - fny1996 - 10-17-2004

I've read a couple references to the Hip in Maxim magazine. Does anyone know about this? Was it an interview? What issue is it in?

I think those are just album reviews, Ive seen a couple in there, IVL and IBE got reviewed in the mag. As far as large articles and spreads I dont think thats happend. Unless I missed something....... Confusedcratch:

A search on their website comes up with nothing but a (good) notice for M@W.

Incidentally, re the other recent thread mentioning GD's doing a 12-song mix CD for them, those things are archived and a search doesn't turn it up.

they had a top 10 list of must have road tunes that listed LBU as a must have

In the July '99 issue, they had a list of the 12 essential road-trip CDs and LBU was # 2 (behind CCR's Chronicle). You can read it HERE

I did read the review article in Maxim on the IBE release. From what I recall it was a favorable one. The sad thing was that the magazine placed a picture of another band next to the review. It was no one that I recognized.

I once read Maxim guide to the Ultimate Roadtrip and in their Top 5 Road Trip Albums was resting "Live Between us"

Wow. They put them right up there with the Stones, AC/DC, Zep, Nirvana, Hendrix, James Brown and Howling Wolf. I've owned most of those albums at one time or another ... it's quite an honor.

I'm also happy they put Me First and the Gimme Gimmes in there. Who doesn't love punk covers of showtunes and cheesy pop numbers?

In the April 2003 issue there was an article about Quebec, and Canada in general, and in one of the pictures theres a guy wearing a Hip hockey jersey.
