I ask this because I have something I am considering giving GD. It's a leather bound blank book I purchased for someone 3 years ago but I parted ways with the person before I could give it to them. It's a gorgeous book and even if Like to write, I don't plan on using it because I have horrible handwriting and it's just TOO nice to use.

I paid a lot of money for it and I hate to see it collect dust. I want to give it to Gord because I know he writes pen to paper, or at least I've read that.

I have many people urging me to give it to him. I think it might be a little weird and stalkerish.

What do you all think?

I plan on enclosing a short letter about how I came across the book and how it represents the thankfulness of me and my fellow fans.

i think its a cool idea...just thinking that future hip classics may be written in a book that you gave him would be an ultra cool feeling :thumb:

Yes you should give it to him. My husband Hugh23, has given all the band members t-shirts and hats. In fact after the Detroit show, we were back stage and when Robbie came out he had the t-shirt on, how cool is that!! In fact you can see it in the picture Hugh posted. Also my girl freind gave Robbie an Aquamarine stone and she had a freind of theirs send a package of candles. We asked Robbie if he got it, he did and he burned the candles. I think they like getting gifts.

I actually just PM'd 73 to tell her about you and Suzie and how gifts for the boys were definetly a go! I think you're right: gifts might just spice up life on the road, i'm sure it's appreciated.

I just wanted to say that I think I've pretty much decided I'm giving Gord the book. This is what it looks like.

It was taken in low light with a crappy camera but the book is black and it's has the most amazing gaelic symbols on it. It's about 6x10 and it's about an inch thick. I don't know if you can see near the button how it's got a leather 'thong' to wrap around the button for closure. It's just the most amazing book. I haven't seen anything like it since. I think he's going to love it.

I think it's a cool idea. I have only really given them photos that I've taken over the years, and they seem to really appreciate them.

Go for it! A lot of gifts for bands are very generic, not something specifically tailored to the unique characteristics of the specific recipient. A book for writing is a wonderful idea for Gord!
