This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Me thinks the Republicans are getting a little worried about the outcome of this election. Even if you don't agree with Moore, ya gotta admit this is pretty silly.

Yet another installment of "The Daily Republican Bash" on this forum. Oh, let's not forget the all-too-familiar ripping of my country's political climate, overbearing as it may be, by citizens of a foreign country. I guess my question is "why do so many foreigners immerse themselves in American politics?
Yes, the charges against Moore are silly. About as inane as coercing burnouts to vote Democratic with undergarments and processed food.
cratch: Silly as it may be, the law is the law. Maybe that fat-ass Moore will spend a few days in the Graybar Hotel, and get a dose of his own medicine - fallout from hysterical accusations of impropriety.

Direwolf...thanks for posting those. I love the "slacker oath". I literally laughed out loud.
As a registered, voting American, I have to go on record that George W. Bush is one scary mother-f***** and he's got to go! He was elected under dubious circumstances, at best, and the fact that he "leads" our country based upon faith in his alleged god is quite concerning to me.
I don't necessarily think Kerry is any better or worse; I don't really "know" much beyond the fact that he's different, but I believe he deserves a chance, anyone deserves a chance. Bush had his and he blew it. It's time to let someone else take the reigns, rather than continue as we are, propelling ourselves and the rest of the world toward Armageddon.
Oh...all you Canadians...you're our next-door neighbor so you have every right to be immersed in our politics. Hell, even if you tried to ignore American politics you'd continue to bashed over the head with them every time you open your eyes.

We are immersed almost without choice in US politics because of the US influence on the global economy and whenever we turn on the television. It doesn't work the other way though. Go figure.
I LOATHE George Bush. I did before I watched F 9/11 by Moore. Even moreso after watching it. It's pretty obvious who is in bed with who and let's hope the soap washes away all the oil stains from the White House bed sheets.
I don't know about Kerry either. He's a military lover and flipflopper. Lesser of the two idiots..er..evils.

Some nitwit from Queens U's young conservatives tried to have Moore charged under Canada's election laws following the last federal election. Apparently the Elections Act forbids foreigners from suggesting how people should vote, and during a visit to TO Moore suggested that people shouldn't vote for Harper.
Hey esthete, if the prez of the USA is the leader of the free world, why doesn't the "free world" get to comment?

I couldn't agree more. Honestly, there's nothing presented in "Fahrenheit 9/11" that I haven't already read about in various books, journals and news articles. All it did was help reafirm what I already believed about the current administration and their policies. I don't agree with everything Michael Moore says or does, but I definitely agree with his views on Bush. Bottom line is that the Bush regime scares the crap out of me (as well as every other person I know, including my American friends in California and Colorado). I think what I'm most afraid of is the chance that he'll steal this election just like he did the last one. I've never been more worried about the state of our planet than I am now. This is a scary and important time in history and it effects everyone, not just Americans.
By the way, anybody read the 9/11 commission report yet? I've been dying to check that out.

Okay, okay....point taken.
I did not mean to suggest that y'all shouldn't have an opinion, or shouldn't take an interest, but let's face it - the obsession (and it is just that - an obsession) with the American politic (particularly this election) far exceeds the amount of impact this all has on your everyday lives. You all seem to feel that you cannot avoid the topic because of media inundation (me too), yet every day there are a handful of new threads and discussions cropping up here. It merely perpetuates the onslaught and feeds the machine. Please, give it a rest!
I come here to divert myself from the circus that constantly surrounds me, yet there is no reprieve on these pages. What's worse is that the content being posted is always scathingly critical of my particular ideology, and often contains the same baseless rhetoric that deluges me all day, every day. It gets old.
It amazes me how a population can be so critical of a political neighbor whose mere presence removes them from most any global threat...
