Same for the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, they've got Metal Detectors, the only way to see the inside of that place is to buy a ticket.

The other HOB shows were not a problem for video or still cameras.
Just because this one has metal detectors does not mean you cannot bring in a camera.

Have you been there Dana? There are signs everywhere, for "no recording equipment" etc. If it is allowed I would be very very surprised. Has anyone seen pictures of any hip show from this place, or is there a known recording?

No I have not been there - but almost all the venues say no recording equipment allowed.

I just go my tickets for Vancouver, and the tickets say no cameras etc.

Tickets usually say no camera etc. It's up to the venue.

I video taped the last concert here in 2002 and Chris has been taping shows on the current tour.

HoB venues have weird policies.

At the first Sunset Strip show in '00, security at the door let me in with a point-and-shoot camera but security inside put the kibosh on using it after three photos. Also, the boot of this show has a funny moment where the taper is confronted by security during FC and has to go outside to explain that he got clearance from Mark V. to record, at which time he was hesitantly allowed to continue. At the 2nd show, I didn't bring the camera and didn't see any tapers, not have seen any boots, which is too bad because it was a great show.

At the Chicago '02 shows, security at the door was vigilant with regard to cameras, so I didn't even try one. Obviously, there was at least one taper, who got permission from Mark in advance. Also, it was an over 21 (I'm pretty sure) show, a friend of mine's license from CO was somewhat beat up and hard to read, door security almost didn't let him in and almost tossed me for asking a question about their policy. :roll:

HOB Chicago had huge "NO CAMERAS-RECORDING EQUIPMENT" signs everywhere (In nifty Cajun style lettering I might add) and everybody and their mother had a camera, and three guys at the back had mic stands. They checked your age on the way in and that was it.
