Well I've been listening to JOEL's CD for a few weeks now and as usual i skipped him as I do most openers for the HIP.....

I really dig the CD .... probably one of the best I've heard in a long time from a new band....... so I will be at the ACC early for this one for sure!

Plaskett isn't so new though. He's been doing this music thing for a while. Thrush Hermit lasted a little while and now JPE.

Ya I was on his website and realized he had other music... I guess new to me.... Over the last 5 years plus I've been introduced to new artists and the ones that stick out in my head are David Gray about 4 years ago, Sam Roberts almost 2 years ago... and now Joel Plaskett.... all of these artists hit me on the first listen !

Any one suggest any others I'm missing out on..?

Bang on. Joel is a Feldman Agency artist. More importantly though Joel rocks big time...as anyone who caught him on Canada Day can attest. Great choice. Don't miss him! You won't be disappointed. :thumb:

Great news! I have his Down at the Khyber album but I never did get to see him...not even at the famous Khyber shows!! I miss that place. I saw Kate Fenner there two years ago...anyway...big thumbs up on Plaskett over Sam Roberts.

if I am not mistaken Joel had one of his video's done by Ante Kovac (I think that's his name.. good ole Croat!).. and of course Ante did a video or two for the hip as well..

Glad to hear it. IMO Plaskett is head and shoulders above Roberts, both as a live act, and a musician.
