So, I go to this "Widespread Panic" party... - AndGraceToo - 09-23-2004
..and I start (((drinking))) -
Of course as we all know Atlanta is Tuesday, and I'm really excited about it, and pretty much can't shut up about the whole event. However, I'm in a room full of Wookies* and they are all "blah blah blah" about Widespread Panic and "When is tour gonna start, and who is gonna play", and "I miss Mikey" blah blah blah.
These fans can be quite ridiculous about "their band" :roll:
So, I start in. ((slams Bourbon shot)) "Well, my band is on tour now"
Dead silence. "What? You're not going to The Hip?" ((Arms shoot up into the sky and start chair dancing while the beginning of Grace,Too goes through my head making squinchy rock and roll face))
Eyerolls all around and nose snorts and headshakes.
"Hey, shut up, they've been around just as long as "PPAAAANIC" ((mocking whiney voice)) and rock just as hard, if not harder than some gooey "JAAAM BAAAND" ((mocking whiney voice)).
So the next half hour consists of Bourbon and justifying my Hip addiction while I covertly manage to slip in a mix CD. I think it was the - Emperor, Dough, Fully mix that: LO and BEHOLD - Get a bunch of zealots to admit that "I can see why these guys are huge in Canada".

*Wookies: A term on endearment that describes fans of Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead, Phish, moe; ect. who have a tendency not to bath, or shave for weeks on end - ending up looking and smelling much like the character in Star Wars known as "Chewbacca" who was a Wookie.
