Asheville Show - 131NC - 09-15-2004

As long as the flood waters recede by 10/27 the Aheville N.C. show should be on. Any other Hipbasers order their tickets for this show yet? My wife and I will be driving up from the Charlotte area. We are displaced Buffalo fans since '97. We have been lucky enough to see them on the PP tour twice here in N.C. they haven't been back since. We did see them on the IVL tour at the HOB in Chicago ( bro in law lives there ) on 7/18/02. Looking forward to Asheville, and to meeting some of you.

I'm a displaced Canadian living in Winston Saelm and I had my tickets to the Orange Peel show the day they became available! Do you know anything about the club or how it is laid out? Just wondering if there are any seats, etc.

Hey there -
The Orange Peel fits about 1,000 and is a great time.
You'll be able to walk right up front and shake Gord's hand.
NO ONE here knows about them, and I mean NO ONE...
It's centrally located, you can walk anywhere..
And if you want to go hear some great Bluegrass go to Jack in the Wood
pre-show, its a great pub.

It will be like our own private little HipShow. I'm not worried
about buying tickets, I may run down there for lunch and get them.

The waters are fine, everyone is getting electricity and water, etc.

Is anyone planning on recording the Asheville show? I'd love to get my hands ona copy of that is possible....or any photos too!

I'll definetly take some photos, I'm going to Atlanta as well, so I'll post those next week. I know a taper here, but he's not into the band, I can ask him if he will..

whats up asheville board ---im in greensboro and looking forward to the show...--so ---how many people outthere will be at the asheville show??!!!---will there be beverages and light snacks---pre show soundcheck meet and greet ---post show heavy caroulsing/impromptu singalongs!!--large quantities of "pure mountain air"-------------im STOKED! somebody pls join me in my joy!!

What kind of flooding happened at Orange Peel. I might be going there after the myrtle beach show, hopefully the House of Blues isn't flooded.

The mountain region of NC was hit pretty hard by the hurricanes that passed through. Things are pretty much back to normal now, so, the show will go on!

Nothing happened to the Orange Peel, and Myrtle Beach didn't get hit at all..it's all good..come on down!

I would seriously come down for Asheville, I'm telling you, it will be so worth it, you will be amazed seeing them in such a small, and empty venue, in a really cool and fun town -

From the post I've read, this could be the smallest audience at any Hip show I've attended. This should be great. If we don't make it to the pre show happy hour, we'll be the couple in parking lot in the little chevy pick up with a cooler of beer and a Hip boot in the cd player. Join us.

Was up in the mountains for two weeks for some occupatinal training. Went out to eat in Asheville and saw the Orange Peel. Looks like a cool small club. Looking forward to the show, just a few days away! We haven't seen the Hip in two years, so we are due. I think we will probably make it up there around 6 pm from Charlotte. Hopefully get a bite and a beer before the show. Anybody have any suggestions?
