I loved last night's CAN/US game. It was like an allstar game only with the hard hits and fighting. Mario even dropped the gloves! hock: But the guy is 100% class. Capt Canada. :thumb:

Wish I could be in the stands. I was at the Canada Cup championship in '91 at Copps Col. Can't beat the live and crowd experience.

Mario looked incredibly motivated last night. I wonder if knowing this is likely his last international tourney has put an extra bounce in his step.

And I know I'm in the minority here, but I though last night's jerseys looked very cool! Just wish they had their names on the back. For a split second I thought Roenick (#97) and Weight (#39) were playing for Canada. Thankfully it was Thornton and Richards!

I liked the jerseys also. I went on Ebay and other online sports stores during the game looking to buy one. Different and very cool. :thumb:

tonights game should prove interesting as they tied Slovakia in the pre-tourney game....
but i think Canada will still be riding high from the win over the usa

so my prediction is......
4-1 Canada

the jerseys are pretty cool, but these babies are still my favourite:



btw, is anyone else really liking the job that Sean Burke is doing on CBC so far?

i'm really excited for all of Canad'as games of course, but the game i really can't wait to see now is Sweden/Finland :jump: that's gonna be some goooooood hockey.

I didn't much care for the yellow jerseys.

These are still my favourite, and I'm still desperately trying to find one in stores...Halifax, Ottawa and Calgary have all been horribly disappointing.

I bought the one that DC's post shows and got my name on the back of it, and shortly thereafter wished I hadn't! Should have gotten Iginla or Sakic on the back. But I made up for it by getting a replica of Gretzky's 87 jersey.

Looks like the Czechs are going to need some BC bud to calm their nerves tonight...Sweden (my 2nd favourite team) are coasting to an easy finish...it's 4-0 after two periods which coincidentally is what they were beaten by over three period in their opening game, and that was considered a surprising disaster.

no, i'm pretty sure i mean Sean Burke the goalie...he's on in before the game and during the first intermission in a new segment for the world cup called "Around The World".

Yeah it is Brian, Smart Hockey guy, he would chew up sStrachan and spit him out. Anyone notice that Strachan is pretty much wrong all the time.

i have that jersey too, no name on it though, i never get names or numbers on my jersey.
