Favorite Movie Soundtracks - hipkid33 - 08-31-2004
I don't think this has been done before. We talk a lot about our favorite bands, albums, and songs, but what about soundtracks? What are your favorites, whether you like the movie or not?
Mine are:
Reservoir Dogs - one of my top 5 favorite movies
- Stealers Wheel "Stuck in the Middle With You" - great tune! Who can not think about the famous ear scene when this song is playing.
The album full of classics mixed in with dialogue is genius!
My only complaint is that it is too short.
The Crow
- Great heavier soundtrack, favorite: Pantera "The Badge"
Less Than Zero
- Slayers' much shortened remake of "In a Gadda Da Vida" is pure thrash metal genius. (scream in your highest Tom Araya voice :twisted: "IN A GADDA DA VIDA BABY!!") :twisted: Awesome! I get chills. :thumb:
- I must also admit that I love The Bangles remake of "Hazy Shade of Winter". Should I be embarrased?

high fidelity...some great classics, mixed with some obscure brilliance, and you get a top-notch soundtrack to the best movie made about the love of music....
and p.s...i like the bangles hazy shade as well

Damn you guys have great taste in music.
Those two CD's - High Fidelity and Dogs get pretty much the most play out of any of my CD's.
Next to The Hip.
I love Jack Black's cover on there also - if I heard it, I would never had guessed it was him.

Forrest Gump! Yeah, I know, I know...but it has some awesome stuff from the 60s and 70s that I am now completely familiar with, but when I picked this up when I was about 16, it was all new to me. As a classic pop-rock soundtrack, it's perfect for driving!
High Fidelity is a close second...and the Empire Records soundtrack too!

MWB might be the single worst soundtrack I ever paid money for. Proof of why I usually download compilation CDs. UGH! Even the Hip's conributions were just about as bad as they could be. Glass is an OK song, but Oh Honey is the most effortless throwaway I've ever heard them do...
