The Hipbase "Latest News" forum... - LoftyPines - 08-29-2004

Anyone else read the comments off of that part of HipBase?

It seems to ba a bunch of immature morons who just bash eachother.
I would like to make a recommendation that it be closed for comments. It ends up being a poor reflection on Hipbasers and The Hip.

Anyone else agree?

I agree, even though it's pretty easy to ignore...read the news story and don't scroll down into the abyss...

However, whether it's easy to ignore or not, nobody ever has any constructive contributions or anything additional to offer...the comments are completely irreverent and therefore they should be "stricken from the record"!

Yeah, quite a few comments do get out of hand or way off topic. That part of Hipbase is essentially 'uncensored'. I wonder sometimes what guests do when they come on here for the first time, check the front page news and then see the immature comments. I just hope it doesn't reflect onto the site. That's my only concern.

I think that it might, I mean..some people might come to the main page and say, oh this place looks cool, then read comments, and see immature people...and say..oh..maybe that's how the forum is as well..why bother?
