..was that not the most heartbreaking thing you've ever seen? i thought for sure he'd done the impossible and put it out of the park to tie the game, but i guess it was not to be...we're gonna have a tough game on our hands against Japan...what a bummer Sad.

not only was that heartbreaking, but how about the 100 meter womens hurdle finals...wow..my heart sank..

(and has anybody else noticed Ron Mclean starting to go a little crazy..he wanders off on some bizzare tangents lately...)

That was truly a 5 minute suckfest with despatie missing his dive, perdita hitting the hurdle and the baseball team giving up 6 in the 8th to the cubans... what we need is a really good 5 minutes.

The only summer sport I really care about and we can't make a go of it...I guess I'm back to hoping our women have another stellar run at the soccer Women's World Cup!

There's just not that many sports we care about...soccer is the most common sport for a kid to play (virtually all of us played it or were forced to at one point) but nobody makes it a career because this country doesn't worship such people. We certainly haven't won any acclaim for our soccer exploits. When a sport isn't front and centre in a nation's collective consciousness, it seldom succeeds at the international level.
