I think Adam Proteau needs a few Hipbase greetings in his inbox. He should also lose his job for being so totally oblivious to reality.

I remember one time in Chicago winter 96-97, a bunch of us made a road trip to see Leafs-Hawks back when this was the best Norris rivalry.

We were bastards the whole game, sung our asses off for Oh Canada, booed the Stat Spangled banner, and about 30 of us were louder than the rest of the building put together.

During one of the stoppages in play the random fact was that Ethan Morreau's favorite band was the Hip.

Leafs won 3-2 in OT on a goal by Kirk Muller.

Damn Straight.

- tragicallymike - 08-16-2004

sometimes i think habs fans have more class than leaf fans.......

- tragicallymike - 08-16-2004

just kidding!!!

- The Darkest Canuck - 08-16-2004

we do...because we're the best

- grooveless touque - 08-16-2004

Sens fans have the classiest bunch of all, but our radio jocks are assholes. Kind of am embarassment...there's been at least two firings at TEAM 1200.

Leafs fans are jerks...while wearing MY jersey walking down MY street in MY city, all these Torontonian f*ckwits who come here for university lean out of their cars with Ontario license plates and actually scream obscenities at me. One day I was having a very nice conversation with a girl walking down Coburg, near my university, when a POP CAN came flying out of a car, accompanied by "YOUR TEAM F*CKIN' SUCKS!!!" I hate Leafs fans!

- farmerdan - 08-16-2004

not all of us leaf fans are that bad,

but if i had that happen to me, i'd probably be just as biased

- grooveless touque - 08-16-2004

Yeah I guess that was a mighty broad brush to paint you all with, but the fact remains that even though not every Leafs fan is an obscene militant, all obscene militants are Leafs fans. In my experience anyway.

- farmerdan - 08-16-2004

fair enough

- Canadian Sherpa - 08-16-2004

"You said you didn't give a fuck about hockey well I never heard someone say that before."

I am shocked that people who understand Canada's band so well have so little understanding of what it is to be a Leaf fan.

Fuckwit, Obscene militant... :thumb: This is me soaking up the Kudos.

Back on topic...Did anyone drop this ESPN guy a line to set him straight as to what real Hockey players listen too?

My cousin (through marriage, not blood relative) plays in the NHL...his fave band is The Hip...and I have known some Sabres along the way...they all love The Hip and request them to be played during pre-game.

This ESPN guy is a dork...

E-bombs away...
