I thought the "post the lyrics to your favourite song" thread was the king of having looong postings. I think this one might rival it though.

- kari - 08-09-2004

Since I've seen 25 shows so far, I don't even want to begin to think about the bandwith I'd use up posting all the songs I've seen live.

- Jenna_Bird - 08-09-2004

oh boy...let me start counting....

- cpierson - 08-09-2004

It'd be more a matter for me of posting the ones I haven't heard (from actual released albums/online releases):

Evelyn
I'm a Werewolf, Baby
Cemetery Sideroad
Fiddlers Green (I think)
Land
Put It Off
As I Wind Down the Pines

Forest Edge
Oh Honey
Black Day in July
... and thus far, everything from IBE. Come to Boston, boys!

- Foxfires - 08-09-2004

Oi, can't even list them all ... however the one that always makes me smile is thinking back to their "Summer Nights on the Pier" concert - Seattle 8/24/02. They played Wheat Kings for us.

Standing 20 feet away from Gord, and watching him sing that was unforgettable.

For some of us it would be easier to list songs we haven't heard live.

- tragicallymike - 08-09-2004

i would look it up but i think it would be hard for me to remember which shows i attended in toronto. There have been so many in the last 6 years and i think ive done half of em but i cant remember. 25 hip shows so im guessing ive heard 75% of their catalog.

- keithtalent - 08-09-2004

- The Darkest Canuck - 08-10-2004

so i counted, and 51 different songs in only 3 shows sounds to me like i've been really lucky

also, i have a question, do the hip ever play songs that don't appear on the set list, or modify their setlists slightly? because the first time i saw them i could swear they played 3 (yes 3) encores rather than the two that were the setlist, and they threw in locked in the trunk of a car to streatch it out to 3 encores instead of two...is that possible or have i been smoking too much crack...?

Yep. Happens quite often actually. I believe the most recent example was Darien Lake where "Heart" was on the list but was substituted for something else. I've got two setlists with "Freak" listed, but it went unplayed at both shows.

The encores have been switching from 2 to 3 and back to 2 for a few years now.

Extra encores are much more rare (I can't remember one that happened, but wasn't scheduled) but songs are changed on the fly mych more often.
