Top 5 Concert DVD's - irish hip guy - 07-22-2004

Concert DVD's are becoming better and better and more and more back catalogue is being released every week.

Which brings me to my question.....

What are the top 5 concert DVD's you have bought or seen? and no cop outs by including DVD bootlegs of Hip shows or Celine Dion performances from Vegas!


5) Pearl Jam Live From The Showbox Theatre....intimate gig....awesome show

4) INXS Live Baby Live....live from Wembly...the pinnacle of their career

3) REM Perfect Square ...beautiful surroundings..with a great stage display ...and a great set....Micahel Stipe puts on a hell of a show.

2) AC/DC Live From Donnignton ....all i can say is... turn it loud!!!!

1) U2 Go Home Live From Slane Castle (i could have loaded this list with U2 DVD's but i am only pickin one)...simply the best.

I've only had a DVD player since last Christmas, so I don't own that many, but I'll give it a shot:

1. U2 Go Home Live from Slane Castle

2. Pearl Jam- Live at the Garden (unbelievable show with lots of cool extras)

3. Steve Earle- Just an American Boy (not so much a concert video, but more of a concert/documentary thingy)


That's all I currently own. I'm still waiting for the Hip to release one.

I really like these three:
U2 Go Home
- Awesome band, awesome venue, just awesome.

Foo Fighters Everywhere But Home
- This DVD really captures the energy of a live show (and I was at the show on the disc). Recorded live in Toronto at Aero Hall.

Guster Live On Ice
- A different spin on a live DVD. Recorded over two nights at The State Theatre in Portland, Maine. (And I was at the first night of the recording.)

The "bootleg" I have of Rush, AC/DC and The Stones from the SARStock show is awesome; I can only imagine that the professional version is even better.

Those are the only ones that I have (or have seen in their entirety.) I'm gonna have to break down and buy the Zeppelin DVD.

only have 2 live shows on dvd but i listen/watch the foo fighters anywhere but nome dvd at least once every 2 weeks...wish the audio played in a cd player!

Pearl jam live at the gardens is cool too. I have a VHS of their concert at the ACC in 2000...its ok

MY favorite though, is a VHS copy of the first band i ever saw on a stage in 1994. I was a hardcore punk fan back then (listen everyonce in a while still). Band was guttermouth. The lead first addressed the croud by throwing out plastic knives and forks and sugar cubes, saying 'stab whoever you can..oh and try the sugar cubes they are trippy'. Needless to say i was alitle frreaked out...but was only 14!

A must-have IMO! Shows the Stones in their prime, 1972.

led zeppelin by far is the greatest DVD ever made..concert or otherwise...

5.Beatles Anthology..not technically a concert DVD, (or five!)..but what a ride!

these are incredible shows!! More than 3 hours long. The dead can play forever. I wish the hip would start doing 3 plus hour concerts!

Excellent dvd!! I suppose that's 6 though so take off one of the Pearl Jam ones I suppose

I know it's not a concert DVD but I hope all the Pearl Jam fans here have seen Single Video Theory. It's a 45 minute documentary of the band in the studio during the Yield sessions.
