Favorite Bootleg? <song> - joshwayy - 07-14-2004

Ok, a suggestion from the masses....what is your favorite song live? I obviously cannot add this into a poll, so ramble at will...

Right now I'm loving a bootleg of Cordelia from Canada day years ago. It's the one where gord says new national motto would be "Who are we kidding" and he says he thinks they should change it to "Happy stupid day" a new refendum question would be

"If someone important asks you something about something important do you answer it strictly because you feel important?"

It's just SO funny and SO Gord.

There cannot be only one.
And even though these are numbered, there is no order to this chaos.
1. Poets from Syracuse 2000
(How can you give me the finger, and
expect me to go on with the show?)
2. Yawning from 12-23-00 (with Kate)
Spooky
3. NOIS from somewhere early 90 or 92. (Have to check my tapes)
The crowd chanting swim, swim, swim,... And Gord just
going with it going nuts.
4. Put It Off - from a bunch of the Henhouse shows.
(Satan, Satan, Can you hear me?)
5. 100th - Buffalo 11-29-96
(Blonde Solid, early poets)
6. Courage Buffalo 12-20-00
Great crowd singing along to (There's no simple...)
7. Lofty Pines from Boston 1998.

1) The Rants!

Obviously any rant during any song instantly wins my vote. I don't think there is a single rant I've heard that I didn't like.
But besides the live yarn-spinnins and wanderin vocals...

2) Who By Rote (MMM I&I)

I sooo didn't like the album version of this until I heard it live. Excellent.

Ahhh, er, hold on; I gotta listen to some boots... Big Grin

Grace too -- Martyr's, Chicago

Meridian - 9/30/96 - 21 minutes of ranting, cursing, and Hiccups.

Courage - > LTR -12/03/00 -- deafening crowd from TO... it still sends chills up my spine listening to the boot, remembering the experience.

Just about any version of New Orleans believed to be recorded in LA. Killerwhale, Nuclear Sub, and Freaked/dirty ABAC -- 91. 93. 95

And so many more

Cheers

Pat

I was at that concert, and i think that's the loudest i've ever heard a crowd cheer for them for that long....if you listen to it, the crowd just keeps on getting stronger and stronger, i honestly thought the roof was going to blow....i listen to it every once in a while and it still sends chills down my back. I love it when gords says to a great bunch of canadians and good singers too. It was the only show that i've heard where gord lets the crowd sing (actually i've heard it a couple times but the shows were with smaller crowds so the effect wasn't as loud)

Check out my page:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.angelfire.com/blues/tthdana">http://www.angelfire.com/blues/tthdana</a><!-- m -->

It lists all my videos and audio.
I switched servers so some of the links do not work though.
