Back From Wasaga! My personal thanks... - Stephen Dame - 07-12-2004

Unfortunately, there's been a death in the family, so I'm just in and out before jumping on a plane, but I wanted to post this here as opposed to tacking it on the review thread.

Hugh is the man. The oldest 19-year-old I've ever met. Folks, THIS guy is a fan, and a gracious and generous host. If Hugh ever offers you anything folks, take him up on it... as my buddy Shannon said: "Hugh's a party." Hugh, to you and your whole crew: thanks so much.

And to Chris (I hope you can work with the footage you've got, regardless of chicks on shoulders Smile ) and the D-man and everybody else I met who I'm too worn out to remember right now: It was so great, and I hope to catch ya on the road again soon.

If there was any doubt that this was the best site on the net, or that the greatest fans are Hip fans, a Hip Trip get-together is a solid reminder of why I love this band and this bunch of fans so much.

Thanks to everybody! Happy Belated Birthday Hughie! Hope everybody had as much of a blast as we did. "We'll Go Too!" Can ya believe it? Smile

Alright... time to go shake out the sand...

And hey Shannon: Post the Peacock pic! Smile

Stephen, I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Oh it's gonna be a good one! In spite of chicks on shoulders, :thumb:

Stephen,

I also send my condolences. I was the big tall kid that you shook hands with at the end of the show. I was beside Chris taking pictures.

I just wanted to respond because I think you are right. These fans are one of a kind. And it was so good meeting all of you and finding out just how wonderful you all are.

Chris was nice enough to give me a sneak preview of the DVD last night and it was just like being there!!! Trust me - this is going to be a sought-after DVD once it is released.

It was great meeting you and all the best to you and your family!

Trevor

Stephen, sorry you ended a great trip with some sad news. I had a fantastic time hanging out with you, Shannon and your friends. It's nice to find other people with the same love for The Hip as I have.

Shannon, that picture of Gord doing the peacock is the best. Out of all the imitations Gord does on stage, that has to be my favorite! But, his Frankenstein imitation I saw from a clip of the recent Calgary show is a close second.

As Stephen said, Chris and his friends are very cool also. Meeting all of you added to my experience in Wasaga.

What a classic photo! Nice work, Shannon!

Steve buddy, sorry to hear about your loss. Make sure ya listen to lots of Hip. It'll make ya feel better. Sounds like you all had a fantastic time at Wasaga. If I was still living in Ottawa, I surely would've been there. I'm officially jealous. My only hope is that the boys hit the west coast sometime soon so I can take a little road trip of my own, perhaps down to Seattle or California.

Cheers, everyone!

Thanks so much everybody. It means a lot.

I'd just like to point out that Gord singled Shannon out at the end of the show, and was doing the Peacock because Hugh enthusiastically requested it! Gord Loves us Hipbasers!

Take care everybody, I'll be back next week.... but I have to say I'm loving the Southern Ontario radio while I'm at home. Where else can you hear "Killer Whale Tank" on the radio? Smile
