Rolling Stone review -

Wow! Rolling Stone actually reviewed a Hip album....kind of. It's nothing more than a little blurb, but it's a very positive blurb. It's a little odd though that they mention Nautical Disaster and Springtime in Vienna in a review about IBE. Anyway, here it is. Just scroll down a bit and you'll see it:

That is quite a nice little write-up. Good to see that some US critics have pulled their heads out of the @**es. :thumb:

If that "Carson Daly Monthly" rag spell the bands name right, I consider it a victory for all of us... so this is surprising for sure.

Hey, I just found another review from down south. Seems like they're popping up all over the place. Enjoy!

maybe someone from rolling stone saw the thread on here that was mentioning how terrible the magazine has become and they wanted to make up for it

I thought RS always reviewed Hip albums when they came out...if not in the mag, than online.

hmm... I couldn't find the review. Found one for Tragically Hip, they sound similar but not the same as The Tragically Hip.
Perhaps I am too picky, but get it right!

I agree, that annoys me. Notice on the IBE CD it says "Tragically Hip"?

One of my all time Pet Peeves. I actually called Q107 to correct them once. I know, too much time on my hands...

As remotely flattering as the review is, why would they mention "Nautical" and "STIV"... are they completely lost?

The person that wrote the RS review is the same person that writes some reviews on www.allmusic.com. Does anyone know if allmusic and RS are related? It will be interesting to see if the same review appears for IBE on the allmusic.com site.

ok..so as a dj, when i'm talking about the band,or we've just played a song...does it bother you if i were to say " that was the hip with little bones.."...? sometimes i do say just the hip...

No, because "The Hip" is the approrpiate nick name/abbreviation. You took the first word and the last word like you would with any band with "The" and three or more parts to their name, i.e. The Stones, The Dead... the trouble starts when folks give them an entirely new name: "Tragically Hip."
And that was "Hey Jude" by Beatles...
Welcome back, a great tune by Doors...
Man I love Little Bones by Tragically Hip...
Just doesn't sound right... 'cause it's NOT!!
